Episode 1-Men About The House

Lauren Phillips walked up the stairs behind Mr. and Mrs. Roper to her new apartment. "Here it is, number 201." Mr. Roper unlocked the door and they walked in. "It's very nice" Lauren commented as she walked through the door and glanced around. "There are 2 bedrooms though." "Yeah, it's the only apartment I have open right now." Mr. Roper sighed. "You know some people here that could be your roomates, don't you dear?" Mrs. Roper asked in concern. "Actually, I'm new to the area, so I don't know anyone." Lauren answered softly. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that dear." Mrs. Roper patted her shoulder. "Don't worry, I'll meet some people, I'm sure." She smiled. "Thank you so much for all of your help!" Lauren hugged both of the Ropers and they left her to unpack. "Gee, I better find some roomates soon." She sighed as she carried a box into her bedroom.

Lauren decided that she'd better get some groceries if she planned on eating anything. She took the bus to the market and began loading her cart with whatever seemed to look edible to her. She wasn't paying attention as she flew around the corner and she crashed into a man's cart. "Hey! Watch it!" He yelled, but when he saw Lauren's face, he smiled. "Oh gee, I'm sorry, I should've been paying attention." He apologised as he bent down to help her pick up her stuff. "No, it was my fault, really, I've sort of been in a daze lately." She smiled shyly as she put her stuff back into her cart. "I'm Robert Jackson by the way." The man greeted her with a smile, extending his hand to her. "I'm Lauren Phillips, Nice to meet you." She shook his hand. "You sure don't have much there." She said as she nodded toward his almost empty cart. "Yeah, well, I'm a single guy, and the fact that I just got evicted from my apartment doesn't help much." He grinned sheepishly. Her eyes lit up. "You're not going to believe this, but I just rented a two bedroom apartment, and I'm new to the area, so I'm looking for a roomate. Would you be interested?" He looked at her in surprise. "Why, I'd be honored. That's so thoughtful of you." "Don't mention it. There is one rule though..." "What's that?" "It will be strictly platonic." She grinned and he smiled back. "I will try M'lady, I will endeed try." They both laughed.
