View Full Version : Overkill....
I used to be a Star Trek fan. I was never what you would call a trekkie, but I thought it was pretty good. However, after The Next Generation, things started to go too far. Now, I hear there's going to be another one. It will be called "Enterprise." Im really tired of it. Enough already!

I agree that Paramount is going to run Star Trek into the ground. And this is coming from a rabid fan.
There is a new series out this fall, and a movie due for next summer. I really think it'd be better for everyone if they put it to rest for a few years then brought it back out again, especially since we just had two series running at the same time so recently (DS9 and Voyager).
But Paramount is desperately trying to save their pathetic UPN network from dying, and seems to be putting that job on the Star Trek francise's shoulders, which I believe is what will ultimately destroy Star Trek, as it will be subjected to sad ratings ploys and repetitive story lines. I don't even see why they need to since they recently acquired CBS.

I personaly hope the new series flies. Trek is a good thing and as long as it stays good I wish it well. However, the second they cross that line(example : DS9) I am out of there. I agree, a rest would do Star Trek good. But I am still interested in "Enterprise" and will give it a fair chance. As long as it is thoughtful and has a lesson hidden in it, I will watch it. That is all that Trek really is,after all:lessons.
