I was shocked that Rich Girl by Darryl Hall And Joan Oates lyrics really were, "It's a bitch girl." When I was listening to it, I was hoping they were saying, 'You're a rich girl, and you've gone too far. It's a rich girl." But they were saying, "You're a rich girl, and you've gone too far. It's a bitch girl." But deep down, I KNEW it sounded like, "It's a bitch girl", but I was thinking, "Isn't "bitch" a curseword and wouldn't it be bleeped out by the FCC?" How did this lyric slip into radio?

I was shocked when Charlie Daniels sang, "I told you once, you son of a bitch", on XM radio, because on a Billboard Hits 1979 CD I borrowed from the library, the lyric was sang, 'I told you once, you son of a gun",

With the artists I listen to, shocking lyrics are not that shocking.

That's the difference between the album version and the single version.

I was shocked when I heard that Hall & Oates song back in the 70's...songs just never blurted out stuff like you hear now. However, I later learned that the way they were saying "bitch" is not the way I assumed. There is saying "b" to call a woman a derogatory remark, then there is saying "b" when saying for example "Driving this road is a bitch." Two different words. In the Hall & Oates song, they are referring to how "it's a bitch", not that the girl is a "b".

White Horse by Laid Back had these lyrics:

If you wanna be
rich
You got to be a bitch

Later in the song he just comes right out and says: You bitch

The single/radio mix of this song just cut the word bitch out.

I guess it depends in what context you are using the word.
(see Irene's above post) ;)

Bitch--The Rolling Stones.
Digital Bitch--Black Sabbath.
Diamond Dogs--David Bowie. "It's the year of the scavenger, season of the bitch".
Bitch School--Spinal Tap. (It's actually about taking his dog to obedience courses.)

Slowtrain to China--Gary Numan. "In love with this elegant bitch."
Tattooed Dancer--Ozzy Osbourne. "Dance for me, bitch!"

The word bitch isn't necessarily a curse word in a song, but in the past (I'm not sure if it still holds true), radio dj's were not permitted to say it. It's not a profanity word like the other ones, though some people might have problems in some parts of the country.

A bitch is technically a female dog.

Wind of Change byThe Scorpions.........I didn't buy one single album of that once-valid band after that STUPID and FAKE "politically incorrect" sh*t!! Judging from the shape of things that came after that silly song, The Scorpions didn't get one single thing right in that sh**ty song!!

Don't let daddy touch me written by Lemmy of Motorhead......not so much for the lyrics themselves, but because Lemmy described a VERY TRUE and REVOLTING face of society as we would rather not know it!!!

Little girl sleeping in dreams of peace
Mommy been gone a long time
Daddy comes home and she still sleeps
Waiting for the world worst crime
And he comes up the stairs like he always does

And he never turns on the light
And she's wide awake, scared to death
She smells his lust and she smells his sweat
Curled in a ball she holds her breath

Praying to a God that she's never met
Don't let Daddy kiss me, don't let Daddy kiss me
Goodnight

Little girl lies by her Daddy's side
And she listens to him breathe
She knows there's something awful wrong
That she's far too young to see

And she knows she can't tell anyone
She's too full of guilt and shame
And if she tells she'll be all alone
They'd steal her Daddy and they'd steal her home

And it's not so bad when Daddy leaves her alone
Praying to her God with his heart of stone
Don't let Daddy kiss me, don't let Daddy kiss me
Goodnight

Why, tell me why,
The worst crime, in the world

And so Daddy lies by his daughter's side
And he sleeps deep and well
No nightmares come to him tonight
Though his daughter lives in hell

For his seed is sown where it should not be
But the beast in his mind don't care
And the only sound are tears that fell
Little girl turns her face to the wall

She knows that no-one hears her call
But it seems that God hears nothing at all
Don't let Daddy kiss me, don't let Daddy kiss me
Goodnight

The SOB version sounds best, the SOG version is lame.

When I hear "Money" by Pink Floyd, you hear the word "bulls#it" and on "Who Are You" by The Who he says "ah who the fu*k are you"
