Hi, I am looking for more info regarding an early segment that aired in 1989. It concerned a man who murdered a 13 y/o girl in 1970 or 1971. He had rabbits that she liked to look at. Her name was Laura. I posted this as a suggestion for a Vol 4 of crystaldawn's stuff, but I would like to find more info, like if the SOB was ever found. Thanks.

I believe the little girls name was Laura Burbank and the murderer was David Harry Fisher. He was eventually located I believe and he may have even served his time and is now a free man. I do have most of this segment on tape but unfortunately the cable went out a few minutes from the end. I seem to remember Dark Dante posting some info about this case back when Echoes was around so maybe he'll chime in with some info as I couldn't find anything about him on the net and don't remember much about the case.

The cases that involve murdered kids always get me going.
It never ceases to amaze me how many cruel and ruthless people are in this world.

I agree.....I remember seeing that one (David Harry Fisher) when I was a kid. He was about ten years older than her, though. She was just a kid.

I just watched this case today. Fisher pleaded guilty to second degree manslaughter and did't originally get a heavy sentence. He also was allowed to move to a minimum security institution which he escaped from (quite easily) in 1974. He was on the run until after the UM segment originally aired in 1989 at which time he was captured in Edmonton, Alberta where he had been living with his wife and three kids. He went back to the U.S. and prison until 1994 when he was released on parole. I would suggest that Fisher was very lucky to spend as little time in prison as he did for the heinous crime that he committed plus his escape.
