Okay guys, there has been an issue regarding lipsyncing on another board that I visit. The controvery reared its ugly head when a fan of a band has accused the band of lipping during performances. Needless to say there is no way to know for sure, although the accuser has brought forth evidence in bootleg music the person has. Some have even said this is a Milli Vanilli move.

My question to all of you is this, would it make a difference to you, if you went to see a live performance and found out the lead singer was lipping during that live performance???

It certainly makes a difference to me. With all the concerts I go to and the cost of tickets these days, I want the vocalist to actually sing. If I wanted to hear lip-synching or a 'tape' of somebody singing, I might as well pop in one of my CD's and save myself some money!!

When I go to see a live show I want to see a live show. So lipsyncing would really bother me.

id rather have them singing. lipsynching is sort of like ripping off the audience to me. i could move my mouth to mimic the lyrics too, so really, its better for them to sing

What if the reason for the lipsync, was due to the lead singers voice not being up to its usual standards, would you rather the band cancel the show, or continue on using the method of lipsyncing.

I does matter, but it isn't a big controversy like its made out to be by media.

i wouldn't appreciate paying good money to see an artist that's going to purposely lie and deceive me.

If I wanted to listen to a recording, I'd buy the cd and not waste my money on tickets.

Sometimes the artist lipsynches during a performance because he or she is a VERY good dancer and has difficulty singing and dancing at the same time. I've heard that Michael Jackson lipsynches on his tours because he is dancing so good, he has difficulty singing live while dancing good choreography.

What a crock... If that's the case - they should shut the hell up while they're "dancing" - and then return to live "singing". The only reason they do it is because outside the studio, there is no TALENT button on the console.
