It was a sidewalk featured in the opening and closing credits

Well when the camera is filming the houses on the block in the closing credits it's aimed more higher than lower which really doesn;t show the sidewalk

I've always wondered what that long skinny pole, standing to the right of the front porch, was supposed to be.

Maybe a flag pole? Interesting picture.

They did have a porch on the show, Archie tried to paint it once when he was Hi on uppers. Edith sat on the porch when Beverly LaSalle was killed. And Stephanie sat on the porch when Archie found out she was Jewish.

The Bunker house itself is quite inconsistent with the house seen in the openning and closing credits.
Incidently the real address of the latter is 89-70 Cooper Avenue.
The house in the credits appears to be a twin family cemie. The Bunker house seems more like a single house.
In the book"Archie & Edith,Mike & Gloria/The Tumultuous History of All In The Family",it is suggested that perhaps 704 Hauser Street(the Bunker house)is not the same house that is seen in the credits.

It doesn't look it, in the series it's kind of portrayed like the house is by itself. I always thought it was different. Anyone know if the exterior of the house is really in Queens?

I don't know why they would use a house that doesn't look like the house on the show, many shows have done that. Just like Sanford & Son, in the opening, Lamont pulls into a small driveway, and on the show, they have all this room by the door????

It must feel good to live in that house knowing it was a part of Sitcom History. I could see someone saying who lives in that house now-"MY house is the Bunker House"-lol

I really took notice in the episodes involving the porch scenes.
