Seeing that VH-1 has played its Top 40 top heavy metal/hard rock songs of all time, let's see if we can do that one better--in fact, 960 better!!! Let's see if we can compile the coolest list of THE TOP 1000 HEAVY METAL/HARD RAWK SONGS OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!
C'MON.....YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!!!!!
Who would #1 on OUR list?
Sabbath?
Maiden?
Metallica?
Priest?
Pantera?
Heck, we can put ANY song on there, be it metal, hard rawk, hard alternative,
hair metal, nu-metal, grunge, acid rawk, any decade, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, or 2000's. Even if it's obscure, or sold like hash-filled hotcakes, if you got a good'un, post it here!!!! Even if you got a BAD'un, we still wanna see it!! Not necessarily the hardest songs can be included, it can be a power ballad, it can be cheesy, just as long as it's a heavy metal/hard rock song!!!!! VOTE AWAY, AND VOTE OFTEN!!!!!! Vote for as many as you like!!! :guitar: :guitar:

First with Blackmore's Rainbow after Ritchie Blackmore left Deep Purple, and then Ronnie James Dio joined Black Sabbath after Ozzy left. He formed his own band Dio in 1983. Dio has that sort of fantasy theme in his lyrics.
Rainbow In the Dark
When there's lightning
You know it always brings me down
Cause it's free and I see that it's me
Who's lost and never found
I cry for magic
I feel it dancing in the light
It was cold, lost my hold
To the shadows of the night
No sign of the morning comming
You've been left on your own
Like a Rainbow in the Dark
A Rainbow in the Dark
Do your demons
Do they ever let you go
When you've tried do they hide deep inside
Is it someone that you know
You're just a picture
Just an image caught in time
We're a lie you and I
We're words without a rhyme
There's no sign of the morning coming
You've been left on your own
Like a Rainbow in the Dark
Just a Rainbow in the Dark
(Lead/Instrumental)
When I see lightning
You know it always brings me down
Cause it's free and I see that it's me
Who's lost and never found
Feel the magic
I feel it floating in the air
But it's fear and you'll hear it calling you beware
Look Out!
There's no sight of the morning coming
There's no sign of the day
You've been left on your own
Like a Rainbow
Like a Rainbow in the Dark Yeah . . .

EXCELLENT CHOICES!!!! "Black Sabbath" should be considered one of the heaviest songs of all times, the first song to encapsulate all that was metal: scary with just those droney tri-tones opening. It freaked people out then, and it does now. People think that "Iron Man" is the heaviest, but both these songs are in the top running. Same with "Into the Void", you couldn't get much heavier than that.
As much as I love the Paranoid album, the first album by Sabbath I ever bought when I was 13 (my lucky number!! :D ), you could not outdo the debut Black Sabbath album and their third, "Master of Reality" for heaviness. Of course all first three Black Sabbath albums were the greatest!!!

If Blair were a Rush song, what would she be?
The Big Money. War Paint. The girl in The Analogue Kid.
If Jo were a Rush song, what would she be?

As for Tootie, I'd say Kid Gloves. ;)

As far as musical knowledge goes, you rock.
Buttttt.... for ending in R, Stryper, Winger, and Trixter are nowhere near the best RAWK songs artists.
I'm all for Twisted Sister though, God help me.
(and Alice Cooper rocks the house, most underrated artist of all time)

True, we'll keep those guys in the 900's. ;) I was having trouble finding enough bands ending with the letter R, even though finding bands ending with a certain letter makes it too obscure. But I thought I'd make it interesting. :D
Let's see, there's Exciter, Annihilator, Motograter, Bolt Thrower, and some more out there...
