Today, I read where over 65 million people voted to pick their favorite "Idol" during this week's season finale. That represents more people that voted in the last presidential election. Now think about that for a minute. Does that not bother you even a little? What do you think that says about our society as a whole? Maybe it's just me, but I find that fact to be a little unsettling. What about you?

nope not at all. to vote for the president you must be of age to register and vote. there is no age requirement for AI. Hence, there will be lots of teens and kids voting on AI...that part of the population CAN'T VOTE for the President of the United States.

Not to mention that people can vote multiple times for Idol.

Actually, over 120 million voted in 2004, but President Bush got 62 million(which is the record for most votes ever for a single candidate). It's a stupid comparison for the reasons said already.

Good. I'll remember that the next time there's a war in Iraq.

Nope that's just the number of votes that came in, as already said. People vote so many times that the number of actual individual voters is probably less than half that amount.

Some of those weeks, I think Joe voted 60 million times himself! :p

And as stated in previous posts, there is no age limit, and no limit to the number of votes, sooo...
