When I was in college, I lived through my share of tornados. They are scary, but they are over pretty quick. I hope it missed you!

My family used to live in te heart of Tornado Valley-Oklahoma. There were lots of warnings, and we were 100 miles south of Oklahoma City when the great May '99 twister hit it, with the fastest winds ever recorded. Entire blocks were leveled. We lived in Lawton back then. That same year on May 31, 1999, "straight line winds" (that's the weather man's explanation) hit the city. Many didn't beleive him, because these "winds uprooted a lot trees, blocking some roads. And in a little development community near us, sides of houses were missing! Nothing happened to us though.
My mother wanted to sent my dad outside during a hailstorm during the winds to check if some of her Sunday clothes were okay! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif
We all called her crazy!
