(AP) Earth:

Hearing all the flack lately from religious zealots, scientists, and internet nuts, God has come forward with a candid statement to the people of Earth:

"Yes, the Earth is a spinoff of the Universe," God declared.

"It was not created in and of itself as a separate entity. Though I refuse to get into the whole Adam and Eve situation, the 7 days stuff, and so on, suffice to say the Bible and the universe theories can co-exist."

In response to the clamor of incredible inconsistencies with the Big Bang theory and the book of Genesis, God replied,

"Life is full of inconsistencies and I'm not going to explain it all for you.
For My Sake, can't you people just get a life?"

"You have all this time to debate spinoff theories? Let me tell you as someone who knows, some of you don't. My Son on a popsicle stick! - Get out there and live people!"

As God refused to speak anymore one can only wonder when and if He shall return to settle any other pressing earthly debates.

Exactly, I need to have a VHS copy of the interview to analyze what Norman Lear said. I need an explanation as to why Earth didn't have a pilot episode like Maude or The Jeffersons. Until then, the Earth is NOT a spinoff.

Yeah I never heard of a Pilot episode for the series "EARTH" so that means no spinoff

But the main characters Adam and Eve were in the Old Testament, but not carried over to the New Testament...so, to me, it's not a spin-off.

Well that's what the debate has been about. My argument is Good Times is not a spinoff because it has way too many inconsistencies. I think it has 445 inconsistencies-lol

When a character is taken from one show and given their own show and still maintaining the connection with the parent show. Example, Laverne and Shirley was taken from Happy Days and given their own show and there was still a connection between Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley

Not really, characters are usually the same in most cases but the shows are nothing a like.

The Jeffersons was a spinoff of All in the Family. If you've never seen the show, The Jeffersons lived next door to the Bunkers on AITF. After a year or so, they had an episode devoted exclusively to The Jeffersons moving. The next week is when The Jeffersons(the show) launched. Think of it as supporting characters, and then new characters were developed out of the show.

Family Matters was a spinoff of Perfect Strangers. The mother, Harriette, was an elevator operator on Perfect Strangers. It was actually mentioned many times on Family Matters in the early episodes.

Wasn't Good Times a spin-off of the series Maude? I've never seen either show, so I am not sure. I do, however, know that Maude was a spin-off of All In the Family...which I love (AITF that is ;)).:D

I looked up Good Times on some televison site and it was described as a "spin-off of Maude". Did any of the characters from Good Times begin as cast members of Maude?
