A question about chatting

When you are doing a chat with a celeb [like w/ Nancy McKeon through Lifetime] when you want to ask a question do you type it in the space that has the button at the end marked 'ask' or the one marked 'chat'. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/confused.gif

I have no idea cause i have never done a chat before.
