Does anybody remember The US Festivals from 1982 & 1983? I remember watching artists such as Missing Persons, Divinyls, Berlin, The Clash, and The Pretenders. I'm thinking I saw it on MTV (remember MUSIC Television???). I think a few other networks played it too.
You don't hear too much about it nowadays. Was it bad or something?

The US Festival was a ridiculous attempt to recreate Woodstock at a time (1980 to present) of grred and apathy. It was dreamed up by computer mogul Steve Wozniak, hoping to promote a sense of unity and togetherness in the interest of. . . something. :p

The '82 and '83 U.S. Festivals lost a lot of money (especially '83, it lost millions and the performers fees were really high. Van Halen and David Bowie each received over $1 million  )
