....the same rerun on two different channels, and there were some scenes in the show on one channel, that weren't in it on the other channel?

Because, last night, I saw a rerun of "Cheers" on WB and even though it was an episode that I've seen countless times on TV LAND, on WB there was one part that TV LAND has never shown. The episode was Rebbecas first one. It was at the very begining when Frasier walks in and says Hi to Woody, and Woody's standing on a ladder or something.
And later, WB didn't show the where Carla walks away "goose-stepping" and giving a Nazi salute after Rebbeca tells her something.

I know that happens, because the sydnicator give shows to WB, TV LAND etc. with some thing cut out for commercials, then the station or network can cut out some more if they see fit, but I don't remember ever seeing it done before.

yeah for a little bit TBS and Nick at Nite were both airing Gilligan at the same time. I don't think they were ever on at the same time, but I did tape episodes off of both of them and there was different cuts of the episode. The DVD is uncut and I can tell what scene was not shown on which network. Some scenes weren't shown on either.

I've done that with songs on the radio, but not with TV shows.

TBS used to cut scenes out of Roseanne, particularly the fifth season episode where Roseanne says "I will whore myself in every grocery store in this town to get more boxes." TBS cut the whole line, making the scene rather awkward.

I've even noticed differences between versions of epsiodes of Mary Tyler Moore on N@N and TVL. It's all in how they edit things.

Well, I was gonna put a thread on like this, but you beat me to it...lol!

Last Wednesday, my local station Me-TV and TV Land showed the ep. of Good Times where Florida's chances of winning the good sumaritan house award were in jeopardy when Ned the Wino showed up.

I forgot what part it was but TV Land cut otu a particular part just as Ned was about to get bathe or something. So I'm gonna need a refresher on this one.
