I just wanted to say that I checked Lifetime's schedule on their website, and now beginning May 1st, Unsolved Mysteries will air 3 times a day!

Beginning Monday May 1st (Eastern time)

2:00 pm
7:00 pm
8:00 pm

However, the episodes that are airing in the evening are the episodes that originally aired on Lifetime from the early 2000s.

Hopefully this means the older episodes will return to the 2pm slot.

I'm glad to hear that in this case see that. I'd like to see some of the old episodes again at 7 and 8:00.

Wow. I did not see this coming at all. I imagine 2PM will be the retro slot...I hope. I'd prefer some more oldies later on in the evening, though. Darn.

I'm guessing that if they show newer episodes in the evening slots, it's to show more recent cases that they still hope to solve--by showing it to the largest audience possible. More people are not at work at 7 and 8 than at 2:00.

Nevertheless, it's great to see UM getting so much love. I've never seen a show that has been out of production for over 3 years getting so much airtime on a non Nick at Night type channel. I think they know it will pull good numbers wherever they put it. Why do you think FX shows 7 episodes of "Cops" every day?

JUST A THOUGHT... but maybe Lifetime is gauging the response that viewers have to the beefed-up UM schedule as a means of testing to see if viewers would support a new version of the show. That's competely wishful thinking, but how cool would that be?

This is great news! :) More UM each day :D

Maybe, the e mail that I and everybody here sent meant something afterall, this is probably Lifetime's response.

I've been toying with the idea that Lifetime has become a weathervane, and is therefore changing show's timeslot based on whichever way the wind blows.

I wish we got Lifetime here in Canada. That sounds awesome.....three times a day!

Let's just hope that we're not given Resurrection Mary, Fertility Statues and some of their other often repeated segments 3 times per day. I really wish they could spring for some episodes that are never shown. 3 times a day though, wow. UM may one day be on as much as Friends or Seinfeld.

I'm glad Lifetime has chosen to do this. They seem to go on binges with certain shows occasionally. At one time, you could watch "The Nanny" nine times a day.

I have been thinking of this myself. I am sure you read my wordy but detailed post about Cosgrove/Meurer Productions creating a new show similar to UM, but different in a few ways, all good ways. I am surprised that this thread I posted about a new UM-type show got so few replies as it did. Nonetheless, maybe someone in a high place saw this board and read my post.

I'm so excited about this coming on at Night time again! I use to love to watch it at night back in like 2002&2003, and now in 2006 I can watch it again at night! I can't wait, and I can finally watvh it because I have school, and I never get to watch it, but now i can! The only thing: I wish they would show OLDER episodes!

I hope Lifetime will show more Older Episodes some time. I mean I know they show some from 93, but I would like to see some before that 87-92. They could even promote that saying "New on Lifetime: NEW Epsiodes of Unsloved Mysteries from older years". I think that would really help the shows popluarity! I hope they do.

In May and most of June, the 7 PM and 8 PM episodes will be competing against the NBA Playoffs almost every weeknight. I was impatiently waiting for someone else to point that out and couldn't take it anymore.

Your restraint is amazing Awsi. Well if I had to choose between the NBA Playoffs and UM there is absolutely no competition....UM wins hands down.

Another comment about the new episodes they're airing. Its just the usual cycle of Lifetime I assume that the 3 episodes a day will be new ones. Hopefully they will cycle around (as they normally do) and eventually show some older ones. Three old episodes a day - wouldn't that be a treat!

Wow, did not see that coming. I thought that they were going to reduce the times of UM showings, but they tripled it! I doubt it will last more than a few months, I've heard of Lifetime getting more shows in August.

Well, I noted in an earlier post about how I toyed with the thought of Lifetime being a weathervane. The wind may be blowing in the direction of showing UM three times a day. But there's always the possibility of the wind blowing in another direction, in which the show's number of timeslots are reduced. In any case, we should keep our excitement on a more guarded level.

Haven't a lot of you guys seen every episode Lifetime shows several times by now?????

So, aren't you kind of sick of seeing the same episodes over and over again since there are no new episodes???

I have seen most of the episodes. But not all. Besides Unsolved Mysteries was put together so well that you can watch them over and over and still love them. It has the most appropriate host, the best smoky atmosphere for mystery and suspense. The re-creations, the music, and the acting were the best. It had this creepy tone to the whole show, which I really liked. Plus there are hundreds of different segments that it would take you literally months to go through them all.

I used to think that I've seen all of the UM episodes. However, some of the hard-core UM fans have pointed out several cases that I haven't seen or heard of... so I don't mind watching UM over and over again because I'll usually come across a segment that I haven't seen.

Also you can sometimes pick up on little nuances (hilarious or not) that you haven't seen from viewing the recenactments 20+ times before.

I was sad to learn that UM being on at 7 and 8 PM every day will only last for 2 weeks! What a major letdown.
