He should at least try to sing a song a different way, to show that he has variety, range. Every time he sings a song it's always with the rock tone.

Here is my critique on all of their perfomances so far. My top 6 is who I'd really like to stay on, as you can tell. This is strictly my opinion, so I don't mean to offend anyone.

1. Chris Daughtry (He's been consistant every week)
2. Kellie Pickler (She has a powerful voice, can pull off almost every song)
3. Katherine McPhee (She sings each song beautifully and elegantly)
4. Mandisa (She sings each song as if it were her last)
5. Paris Bennet (She's the diva of idol this year)
6. Elliott Yamin (He has a great range. I think he could work on his performance, though)
7. Taylor Hicks (If he were to have a serizure on stage; nobody would know it)
8. Ace Young (Tween voters are probably the only thing thats saving him)

I sooo agree with you on this one. For some reason she looks like she could be on the show Fame!! LOL!! Especially with the outfit that she was wearing the other night!! LOL!!

im bored so i'll give a more detailed ranking

1. Chris Daughtry- i think he really hasnt had one bad performance yet. "broken" was mehh but it wasnt BAD bad. anyway i think hes the strongest- and should win. it WOULD be nice if he did a ballad, but its not like hes gonna put it on an album. he's proven he can take ANY song and make it his own style. prediction: winner
2. Katharine McPhee- shes just really amazing, i agree with simon, she's become a star. she has a strong voice, and is hot, which helps. PREDICTION: 2nd place
3. Kellie Pickler- she has a good voice and good stage presense, but she has one downfall- she isnt versaible. unless a song is country/pop, she has a hard time singing it. PREDICTION: 5th place
4. Mandisa- very very good, not the strongest vocally but she has tons of other things to back it up. PREDICTION: 7th place (shocker)
5. Eliott Yamin- i think he has a potentially good voice but he's yet to show it. with the right song, he can give a showstopping performance. he just hasnt yet. PREDICTION: 4th place
6. Lisa Tucker- shes probably the least versiable. her act is getting old, and i dont see her lasting much longer....which is sad cause she has a very good voice, shes just boring. PREDICTION: 10th place, out next
7. Paris Bennett- something about her just bugs me. her voice is kind of o_O to me. PREDICTION: 6th place
8. Ace Young- he started off weak, got better and now he's bad again. i dont see him making it past the top 8/7. he'll only get there because of his big fanbase. PREDICTION: 8th place
9. Taylor Hicks- ugh, he just bugs me. like everything about him just makes me cringe. i started liking him more and now...-_- PREDICTION: 3rd place
10. Bucky Covington- ummm same as taylor, but about to a 438348948934893489389349394x degree. PREDICTION: 9th place (ugh, though i dont want it to happen)

He's on American Idol, he should show that he can sing all types of music in different ways, show that you actually have some talent. Don't take every song and make it out into a rock song. It's already getting boring to me because he sounds the same with every song he sings.

He gives the show an edge though...makes everyone else look like cookie cutters.

but he HAS done soul...in hollywood. so he CAN do it.

i hope this week he does "lonley no more"...it's not rock, but he can still sing it well.
