Broke Back Mountain is already coming to DVD March 28th. So if you really wantto see this movie you can see it secretly, or not. If you're a guy would you be embrassed to rent this,or not? I don't think that I would be embrassed.

Hell no! I can't WAIT until it comes out on DVD (I've seen the movie about 4 times now) and I'm not ashamed to say so (oh yeah, and I'm a girl...but it doesn't matter). It's a wonderful movie.

Go to the IMDB message boards and they say that Jake Gyllenhaal, from Brokeman Mountain is gay in real life.and so what if he is.

That's what people are thinking but it's not true. If anything, he's bisexual (not like I'd know this for a fact, just a vibe I get).

No I won't rent it...putting all the gay stuff aside, loves stories just don't appeal to me.

This is THE worst movie I've ever seen in my entire life. I loathe it.

I probably won't rent it just because I've already seen it. I think it's fantastic but there are other things I want to see before I see Brokeback again.
And Jake Gyllenhaal isn't gay. Just because he did that movie doesn't mean he is gay. Of course that's what everyone says because of the movie.
Rock Hudson was in several movies with Doris Day, does that make him straight?
How about the very famous Sarah Michelle Geller/Selmia Blair kiss in Cruel Intentions? Does that make them gay?
It's absurd.
I'll probably rent it. I want to see all of the films that were up for best picture at the Academy Awards.

Exactly. In fact, Gyllenhaal's on-screen gay lover, Heath Ledger is now married and has a kid with another co-star, Michelle Williams. I believe she also played Ledger's wife in the movie.

I saw this in the theatres and I wont be renting it. I did not like this movie at all. To me it didnt live up to all the commotion and hype that was put on it. And the whole Gay aspect is not the reason why i didnt like it. It wasnt really that much of a love story to me. When i think of love story i think of The Notebook. I think the love story aspect b\t the 2 main characters should have been focused on more, to me it wasnt. This movie just didnt appeal to me.

Naah, I'm not going to see it. Maybe if it were about two lesbian cowgirls I'd be interested though. :joke:

I watched it, and I liked it. I didn't love it. At two hours and 15 minutes, it was way too long, in my opinion. I just got bored as it dragged on and on.
I didn't feel bad for the guys in love, but I did feel bad for their wives. They endured such deceit and wasted years.
I thought Heath Ledger's character was very cold and unlikable, unlike Jake Gyllenhaal's, whom I liked better.
The scenery, music and acting were all top-notch. I got teary-eyed at the end.
Crash is a much better movie, in my opinion. Voters made the right decision. I'm glad it won the Oscar for Best Picture.
