Color Mooners DVD offered on PBS

While watching the pledge breaks during the recent PBS Gleason Special, they offered the upcoming "Color Honeymooners" DVD set as a "Free" gift with a pledge of $200......I don't know if it is shipped right away and of course I wouldn't spend $200 just to get it now but if anyone does maybe we could learn more about the set early, like are the original openings included or are they Paul Brownstein edited Productions from "American Life" cable. you can also see the offer at [url]www.thirteen.org look for the gleason special area. They are also offering the special for a $100 pledge.

They have been advertised as unedited and re-mastered and featuring the "Glea Girls", so it sounds like the originals.

Also, when and where did this PBS special air? I missed it.

Thanks, I have since learned that the special was titled "Jackie Gleason: Genius At Work". I found a Public Television site where you can make the same pledge for what they were offering on the air. However, it also said to allow 6-8 weeks for the delivery, so if anything, a person would only end up getting the DVD a couple of weeks early. That's assuming they are permitted to release the Color HM's ahead of the actual street date. One good thing about it is that all of this is good publicity to advertise them now and make people aware of what's coming.

By the way, for those who receive WNET (PBS in New York City) this special will be repeated at 4 AM (EST) this Monday, March 20. This information was told to me by an employee of another PBS station here, so if it turns out to be wrong, please blame her, not me! LOL! :wave:
