Did any of you see Simon Cowell on Jay Leno the other night? Jay Leno was trying to imitate him using a British accent and Cowell looked at him and said, "What kind of accent is that?! You sound like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins!" I thought that was kind of funny!

I always kinda like when people make reference to
DVD or MTM too. But I can't help but think if guys
like him were as popular then as they are now there probably wouldn't been room on the schedule
for sitcoms like TDVDS to even get a chance. TV sure has changed in regards to people like him.
I remember when they used to bring people like
Zsa Zsa Gabor, who were just famous for being famous, on shows like Merv Griffin maybe once a month or so and that was the extent of it. Now
they are the stars and it just seems warped. I hope that doesn't sound too serious. But I do
wonder when people started making fun of DVD's
accent in that movie? Conan O'Brien does too
sometimes. (Did you ever see when he made fun
of the age of Dick's audience for Diagnosis Murder and Dick threatened to kick his butt? O'Brien was
crestfallen, "one of my heroes hates me.") I saw Anthony Hopkins in an interview not long ago and
he's become a friend of DVD after being a great fan of DVD and loving the show. (Anyone see this?) He got upset that people made fun of Dick's accent
in Mary Poppins. I do kinda wish that the nice guys like DVD would kick the butt of people like
Simon Cowell though. At least in the ratings.

...are only "famous" for a brief period of time. How many people will remember HIM 20 years from now, as Dick Van Dyke and his series are today?
