starts off pretty good. it actually gets worse as it goes on. im not impressed sadly, and i like kellie. really boring compared to her past 2 performance...6/10...its, ouch.

the spots on the stage are weird, lol.

she looks hot tonight even though shes not my favorite.

she's singing way under pitch, you can barely hear her. its weird, shes on the far side of the stage, where the lights are. its pretty boring. she forgets her words too. and she's kinda off too. i actually think john sang it better, lol. 5.5/10. im pretty sure she's out

Melissa looks beautiful, and she has a good voice, but when she forgot her lyrics, it was just sooo obvious, and that was a bit of a downfall (since it was sort of reminiscent of the Hollywood rounds). I'm a bit :eek: about Simon's comment, because I think she's done better, but it was definitely not as bad as I would have expected from her.

MUCH better. vocally not the best, but at least she's having fun. probably the best so far. 9.5/10

Randy: The hottest part of that song was the end, the middle was boring. You showed your personality at the end, the end was hot, lots of performances tonight were karaoke.
Paula: You shined when you went outside of the melody.

Oh boy...Here it comes...thoughts and commentary from the KAREN!!! :p

1. Ace - First of all, he's adorable. Now that I think of it, he kinda looks like my crush from my freshman year, except with MUCH longer hair! :lol: Anyway...it was a good and entertaining performance, but weak in the vocals. It was good, but not his best. 7/10

2. Kellie - I was actually kind of impressed with her on this one because I thought she'd do worse with Stevie. I just thought she chose the wrong song to sing, it didn't show off her vocals or personality at all. She looked amazing tonight though, WTF is Simon talking about? 7/10

3. Elliott - EEEEEEEEE I LOVE HIM OMG. However, it wasn't his best. It was pretty good though, he seems like the guy who can tackle on any song from Stevie. He's still amazing and I'm definitely gonna vote for him, even though it wasn't one of the best perfs of the night. 8/10

4. Mandisa - She's really starting to grow on me. I agree with Paula that she can sing ANYTHING and tonight was no exception. Amazing vocals. Amazing performance. She gets my vote too! :thumbsup: 8.5/10

5. Bucky - I was hoping he'd screw up since I kinda sorta dislike him on this show, but he actually impressed me a little bit. I mean, it was kind of a forgettable performance out of everyone else's, but it was entertaining and I agree with the judges that this one was one of his better performances. This performance by Bucky will probably be one of my "guilty pleasures" of the season, LOL! :lookaroun 7/10

6. Melissa - UGH. She doesn't need constructive criticism, she was just God-awful, IMO. Get off the show already, Melissa. You sound like a chain smoker and your voice made me CRINGE like I was watching some horror movie. Plus, I saw your eyes roll back into your head like you were having a seizure. Not once, but TWICE. :rolleyes: 5.5/10

7. Lisa - It was an entertaining performance and a good vocal, but I don't know...I think I'm starting to dislike her personality for some weird reason...I dunno...7.5/10

8. Kevin - I must admit it was entertaining to WATCH, but the vocal was horrible and weird. He looks cute when he wears that hair like that though. There, I said something nice about him! :snob: 6.5/10

9. Katharine - One of the best performances of the night!! She looked and sounded wonderful! She just showed so much range and emotion and she chose the right song to sing. YAY!! 9/10

10. Taylor - I still think this guy was overrated. Maybe it's cuz I was half-asleep when his performance came on...I dunno. I don't think it was as good as the judges and the audience thought, but it definitely was awesome. He pulled it off really well! 8/10

11. Paris - Again, another overrated contestant and again, maybe I'm just thinking this cuz I was half-asleep! :lol: Like Taylor, I thought it wasn't as good as people thought it was, but it was GOOD. Paris showed that she was a great vocalist and performer yet again this week. 7.5/10.

12. Chris - I woke up for him, obviously. Anyway...HE WAS THE BEST TONIGHT!! I'm not saying that just cuz I like him, he really was. He was just so unique and original and stood out from everyone else. He kinda made the rest of the pack look like a bunch of cookie cutters. But Chris turned this song into his own and ended this show with the bang it needed. GO CHRIS!!!!!! :rock: 11/10 ;)

So, I hope my favorites Chris, Elliott, Katharine, Mandisa, and Ace all stay for next week, despite some slightly weak performances by a couple of them. And I really hope Melissa or Kevin goes home, except I actually wanna see Kevin make the top 10 so I could see him on tour, LOL!

heres my ratings

Ace Young- It was a good performance, but yeah the vocals were all over the place. I kinda forgot about him by the end of the show, BUT, Do I Do is probably my favorite Stevie song, my dad played it so much i grew to like it, and he did a very small amount of justise to it. It was ok. 8/10

Kellie Pickler- I LOVED LOVED all 3 of Kellie's semi-final performance, in fact all 3 of them are on my iPod. but this was a huge disapointed for me. it was kinda boring. not the best. soul isnt her genre though, so its all good. 6/10

Eliott Yamin- i was expecting eliott to NAIL this theme, and he didnt, he was just...good. it wasnt fantastic. he's definitley had better. it was kind of forgettable too and it was just "good" for me. 8.5/10

Mandisa- i thought she was pretty good last night. she's had better though and it sounded like she kind of shouted the notes, so at parts it sounded a little off-key to me. i still think "never", the heart song she sang in the first week of the semis, is her best. i like her though, and think she will go far. 9/10

Bucky Convington- Ok, everyone knows i HATE bucky, but he slightly impressed me last night. slightly, is the key word though. it was kind of weird for him. i dont think he belongs in the top 12, sorry. BUT, this was his best performance yet. which isnt saying much. 7/10

Melissa McGhee- Alright, let's start off with a positive. she looked HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT last night. like really hot! ok positive over, now its time for the NEGATIVE. i just really thought this was her worst performance yet. she forgot the words and was SO under-pitch!!! also, it was so bad performance-wise too, SHE DIDNT EVEN COME TO THE CENTER OF THE STAGE!!!!! i think that might be an AI first, where someone only stays by the LIGHTS the whole time. anyway, i thought it was....BAD. 5.5/10

Lisa Tucker- i was happy she did a fast song...and i think it was her best performance yet. but i still dont think she's amazing. also, picking an overdone song is never good, especially something fantasia sang. BUT it was her best yet. 9/10

Kevin Covais- it was just, really really bad. last week was extruciatingly awful and this week was just awful. so it was a step up!!! but yeah, randy and paula need to get their ears cleaned out, it was nowherers near in-tune. nikko did it basically 334983489348934934903490349038904290x better. and part time lover is one of my favorite stevie songs, and he butchererd it, so he gets less points for that. it was the worst of the night. 4/10

Katharine McPhee- this was my favorite performance from her!!!! she sang it SO well...she's also really hot AND a good singer. so yeah, katharine rocked...she was amazing. 10/10

Taylor Hicks- meh, i dont see whats so great about him. his movements are awkward and his vocals arent that good, IMO, either. but i think this was his best performance, i really enjoyed it. 9/10

Paris Bennett- paris didnt really impress me in the semi-finals. i didnt like any of her performances that much. that being said, i LOVED her performance last night. well not loved, liked. it was her best yet IMO, the best she's been since her audition. it was good...9.2/10

Chris Daughtry- in my opinion, he was THE BEST OF THE NIGHT. he now officialy rocks. hes my favorite this year, hes just AWESOME. 10/10

So after rewatching it a few times, I changed mine up a bit.

THE GREAT
1. TIE - Chris Daughtry and Katharine McPhee -- Both equally amazed me, and they were without a doubt the strongest performances of the night.
THE GOOD
3. Taylor Hicks - Ah, I really do not like him, but I do admit that I enjoyed his performance last night. I do think there was a 10 second bit where the backup singers were basically singing the song for him, but other than that, it was hot.
4. Mandisa - Very weak verses, but the chorus and end were really strong.
5. Elliott Yamin - Oh gosh, the boy can sing, but I think the song was just really uneventful. I think the song quality was just as bad as Kellie's, but Elliott proved he could make a boring song still sound pretty good. It wasn't his best, but his voice still soared. I'm hoping for him to give more WOW, and more umph in his performance though.
6. Paris Bennett - It was pretty good. I wasn't as enthusiastic as the judges, because I just felt it was a bit too old-fashioned, but it was definitely miles better than her semi-final performances.
THE OKAY
7. Ace Young - It was an okay performance. There were parts where he was off-key, and I actually sensed some nerves. And what's a shame is that this could have been a shining moment for him, but it just didn't work as well as he had hoped for.
8. Kellie Pickler - There's a difference between bad and boring, and she was just boring -- she wasn't terribly off key or anything of the sort -- it was just the wrong song. Hopefully she redeems herself this week.
9. Melissa McGhee - I don't think it's as bad as everyone thought. I think the fact that she outlasted Ayla was still lingering in our minds, but she really did do an okay job.
THE EHHH
10. Lisa Tucker - Maybe I'm crazy, but watching it back, I just didn't like it. I tried, really I did, but ehhh. I loved the fact that she chose an upbeat song, but it was by far her weakest vocal yet. That random yell in the middle was just o_O, and to me, it seemed disconnected and awkward. It stunns me when Simon gives her high praise for every performance.
11. Bucky Covington - To me, he just doesn't fit for some reason. It was good, but eh.
12. Kevin Covais - Vocally it wasn't great, but hey, he's a blast to watch.
