I don't think my comment on Kevin's performance was biased. I'm not even a huge fan, but I do think he did that decently well for such an uneventful song.

My ranking... ha not necessarily the order in which I like them overall, but just for tonight...

1. Kevin - Aaaaaawwwwwwww. I loved it... I actually don't think it's too weird of a song because my art teacher used to sing it at random times during class last year :lol: because you know, the Starry Night painting references... yeah anyway. I think this was his best yet and maybe not the overall best vocals tonight, it was my favorite performance.

2. Elliot - Daaaaamn he's getting good! LOVE LOVE LOVE the song and I don't know what Simon's talking about... I thought the song fit him pretty well.

3. Chris - Not at all as good as last week, maybe just because I hate the song with a burning passion lol but it was still good. I think he might have actually made me hate that song less! :)

4. Ace - He sounded reeeeally good when he sang normally, but the falsetto stuff just didn't do it for me. I like when guys sing it for like a short time during a song, but it definitely went on for awhile during this song which is probably why it bothered me.

5. Will - Aww, I love him, really I do, and I thought he sounded good but...I dunno I guess I kind of agree with Simon that he sounded average and he seems to always sound average each week. That's why I want him in the top 12, so that he can get better and finally WOW everyone with his voice!

6. Taylor - So maybe his voice sounded good, but I couldn't take that "dancing"... lol he moved around as if someone was tickling him or something.

7. Gedeon - That actually was pretty good, but I dunno I can't really explain what I don't like about him. I guess I just... don't want him in the top 12 because I like all the other guys so much more.

8. Bucky - NO. PLEASE. I hope he gets voted off tomorrow.

My ranking, since all the lines are pretty busy for me right now.

1-2. Elliott and Chris - Undoubtedly, Chris did a great job. It wasn't as good as last week, and it just seemed like a lesser copy of last week's performance. I would love to see him do something out of the box, just to show some versatility, but still remain in his style. With Elliott, I think, just like Chris, it wasn't as good as last week, however I just love his voice. He's definitely my favorite guy this year. He has such a soothing, soulful voice, and his personality is definitely one I admire.
3. Ace - Not a huge fan, but he did pretty well. And that's all I can really say.
4. Taylor - I know it sounds awful, but to me, everything about him seems like such an act. His smile, his gestures, his stage presence, etc. But I have to admit that he did a good job vocally. Based on stage presence though, it was awful. I just ... don't get him. His appeal is almost as confusing as Scott's was last year.
5. Kevin - Wrong song, I think, but I think he took it and did the best he could with it.
6. Will - I like him, but the song he chose has to be one of the most karaoke, overdone songs ever. It just didn't do him any justice, and it's a shame because he potentially has a REALLY good voice, but this performance made him seem average.
7. Gedeon - This is a tough one. He has a really really good voice, and I think if you base it on voice alone, he deserves the top 12. However, his personality just doesn't click with me, and he doesn't fit the mold of past male contestants we've seen on the show. He's only 17, but he seems like he's 37, and it seems like he's taking this competition too seriously, based on his film clips and the speeches he always gives (kind of reminds me of Scott's long speeches last year)
8. Bucky - He's just so bland o_O. He seems like a really nice person, but he's just not right for this show IMO.

1. Chris- not as good as last week but I still thought it was really good. He's my favorite guy this year. I think he'll make it far.
2. Eliott- he sang one of my FAVORITE songs if not my FAVORITE song of all time, so yeah, he gets bonus points for that. but i thought he did a decent job with it. it wasnt OGMGGOGGo SPECTACULAR, but i thought it was good and he did take a risk.
3. Ace- i agree with Krisalicious, his REGULAR voice was good but the falsetto was just weird and awkward for me.
4. Will- will, will, will. i actually thought he showcased his PERFORMANCE skills but not his vocal skills. i've seen clips of him pre-idol from IDF, and they were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. you wouldnt believe your ears. i think he need to do something like that if he makes it to the top 12, if he chooses the right song, he CAN blow people away, but he's yet to choose the right song. it's kinda like he hasn't adjusted yet.
5. Taylor- I thought Taylor was...okay? I dont know. I'm kinda neutral at him at the moment. I HATED him with a passion going into the top 24 and now it's moved up to a dislike. But I dont get what's so great about him. His spazic routine is getting old.
6. Gedeon- Gedeon has a good voice, but that's it. He reminds me of Scott last year. It's like when you think about it...how did he get to the top 8 boys? He got NO airtime, and his voice is basically a weaker version of Nikko Smith from last year (to me). Yet, again, like Scott, he has some sort of secret fanbase voting for him. He's not top 12 material, but he's not horrible. I just think there's nothing great about him. He's someone who's just kinda...there, and you dont notice him or think twice about him.
7. Kevin- Mehhh. It was an odd song choice for me. Too old-fashioned. At least last week he had SOME fun. Weird though, he went into the top 24 being an innocent little kid and now he's like an ultra pimp o_O a CHICKEN pimp. lol. anyway, boring song and it was an odd vocal.
8. Bucky- agh, he just needs to go. he's trying to be a Bo-type southern rocker and he's not succeeding. He's another one who's just kind of there but has a secret fanbase voting for him. I thought it was average...and all of his performances sound the same to me.

Anyway, thoughts on tonight's performances + rankings.

1. CHRIS: I almost died when he sang the song that he chose. :faint: I loved it...he brought so much raw power and emotion into it. I would like to see him take it a step further though and challenge himself with different songs, especially from different genres.

2. Eliott: I LOVED his song!! :biglove: He could've done a better job with the high notes though. But after tonight, he's really starting to grow on me. I mean, I've liked him since the beginning of the semis, but now, I think I :heart: him. :lookaroun And his little anecdote before his performance, about him being partly deaf, was uplifting. :thumbsup:

3. Ace: The falsetto was kinda weird, but he was soooooo charming in his performance. I'm really glad to hear him take on songs from different genres!

4. Will: He sounded good, but it was NOT a memorable performance by him.

5. Taylor: His performance was overrated by the judges and the audience, I did not think he did that great. However, he shows a lot of personality on and off-stage and I like him for that. I hope he makes top 12.

6. Gedeon: It was a great vocal performance, but it lacked something. What it is, I don't know.

7. Kevin: I know I liked him before, but now I want him out. One word to describe his performance tonight: *YAWN* Nice lullaby!! :p

8. Bucky: He seems like a good kid, but he's got to go...for real. Go back to your trailer park BOY. :mad:
