Hey everyone, I just had a quick question about the case profiled today on Katelyn Arquette the young college student who was murdered supposedly as an act of random violence, but I think it was obvious her boyfriend and his friends had something to do with it.

Anyhow...they interviewed her mother, a Lois Duncan. And then at the end of the case, Robert Stack said that she wrote a book about her daughter's murder. What was the name of the book? And I was also wondering if this Lois Duncan that was interviewed is the same Lois Duncan who is a very popular young adult fiction writer. Her novels are mostly based on crime and mystery. I've never read any of them, but I have seen them on several occasions.
Anyhow, is she the same lady? If so, I had no idea that there was a story behind her writing all of those books! How interesting!
I think I may read some of her books!
Any help would be great, thanks. :)

Yes I believe she is the same one. Here is the the book written about her daughter (they also show some books written by her at the bottom).

Thank you so much crystaldawn!

I didn't catch the title of the book during the case.

But thanks.

Has anyone ever read her books?

Did you follow the links? I found this through google but you can get to it from the links on the site you posted above. It is very sad how this was handled and that it happened at all. I feel for her family. There is of course more info on this page than was in the UM episode.

Yeah, it's the same Lois Duncan. I've read her young adult books and I've also read the book she wrote about her daughter's murder, "Who Killed My Daughter?" It's SUCH a sad book. I would love to think that this case would be solved eventually, but I'm skeptical of it...

No, I didn't get a chance to take a very good look at the website until you pointed that link out to me!
Thanks though grasshopper!

Bumping this up to say that Lois Duncan has posted this message on her board. It's a live chat/blog type thing where you can hear information and ask questions about the case on March 2nd and March 9th.

Kait’s case is going to be featured on the radio blog, “When Justice Fails,” on both Monday, March 2, and Monday, March 9. You’re invited to both listen and participate.

The show will be recorded live at 7 p.m. PST in Washington state, (meaning that for those on the East Coast, it will be 10:00 p.m., and for those of you in Albuquerque it will be 8:00 p.m.)

All you have to do is go on line and log in to www.blogtalkradio.com/Jerry-C-Berry, sign in and hit the play button. On the first segment, March 2, you’ll hear Kait’s dad and me interviewed by Jerry Berry, a former detective with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, who quit the department rather than take part in a cover-up involving one of his cases. The following week, we’ll be joined by our private investigator for more discussion of Kait's case.

At about 20 minutes after the hour, the show will open to phone calls from listeners. You can call in by dialing 646-727-3643 and either ask questions or share your own comments and insights.

The blog will stay up indefinitely, but your live participation will need to take place in real time. Please spread the word to others with an interest in Kait’s case.
