Even though they have passed on, they still make money like it's nobody's business:

I'm surprised Selena's even on that list, let alone #12.

Because I didn't think they sold that well in comparison to some of the other artists on that list. I don't know. It was just unexpected for me.

Oh sweetie, her music sells like it hasn't sold before!!! They keep dishing it out and as long as her movie continues to show and new fans come up, they will buy her music. She has made more money now, then when she was alive. So sad.:(

Oh I am sure they do make $$$, the list is only the top 50. They may have been numbers 51, 52 ,53.

As for Tupac, I didn't think he was THAT popular. BUT! after watching a documentary on him, he is considered an ICON. He also wrote a poetry book and had other stuff out there. My nephew who is 17 and too young when Tupac was at his peak, has his poetry book. I skimmed thru it just to see and it had amazing stuff in there. Also, it seems alot of kids in their late teens are downloading, buying and getting into Tupac like you wouldn't believe!!! I am shocked!!!! You would think that Tupac has just surfaced and he is the hottest thing around. I never cared for Tupac, but after seeing a documentary on him and seeing how intelligient this guy was and talented (as far as the poetry stuff is concerned) I have changed my tune on his talents. I don't care for the certain lifestyles, but I will give props to the guy.

This article mentioned Dimebag Darrell of Pantera as "unknown" until he was murdered onstage. I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!!! Pantera and Dimebag were
two of the biggest names in metal while the rest of the scene was selling out to alternative trendiness (i.e., a certain short-haired band beginning with the letter "M".) Pantera kept the metal flag flying, and Dimebag was in all the guitar magazines even then being touted as a true virtuoso. He was practically the only person doing straight-on fast guitar solos and shredding.

Of course he was only "unknown" to all the sychophantic wannabes of Blender Magazine who were all thinking that Blink-182 and Hootie were the wave of the future.

Irene......... I agree with you. When I saw The Tupac documentary I was floored. I didn't know how talented this guy was until after his death. I feel sad that he's gone. He had so much talent.

I never knew Selena until after she passed away. She had so much talent herself. She was so beautiful. So perfect.......

I didn't know who Selena was until after she died either and becoming such a big fan afterwards, I feel like I missed out on something really special.

Pitooey and Consentida, I know what you mean abt Selena. I didn't know who she was either (and I'm hispanic:rolleyes: ). I remember coming home from work and my girlfriend calling me at home telling me to watch the local spanish television. I was watching this "breaking news" segment on the news and seeing a woman in a red truck with a gun to her head. I didn't know who Selena was and I was wondering why this was happening.
