I got sad news, as of 3:00 PM, KB Radio 1520 (WWKB), the station was playing 50's and 60's oldies for three years was off the air. It was replaced by a progressive talk station known as "The Left Station". I got this sad news from Radio & Records regarding the news about the demise of KB:
WWKB/Buffalo Leans Left
The 50kw Entercom station today dropped Oldies after three years by adopting a liberal-themed Talk format with the new handle "AM 1520, Buffalo's Left Channel." Entercom/Buffalo OM Tim Wenger, who programs News/Talk clustermate WBEN, adds programming duties for WWKB. Leslie Marshall, a former host at crosstown Talker WGR, will host a local show for WWKB from noon-3pm. The rest of the station's new lineup will feature syndicated talk shows: Mornings are hosted by Jones Radio Networks-syndicated host Bill Press, while JRN's Stephanie Miller takes the 9am-noon shift and JRN's Ed Schultz fills the 3-7pm slot. Evenings are covered by WOR Radio Network's syndicated Lionel, while WOR's Joey Reynolds — a fixture on WWKB during its Top 40 heyday — takes overnights.
