I second that recommendation! The movie is good, too. You should be able to find the DVD online. Have you read For One More Day? That's also good, and was made into a movie, too.

I'm not sure if I posted it on here yet, but I'm currently reading Mercy by Jodi Picoult. It seems good so far, although I don't think it quite lives up to some of her other novels, like My Sister's Keeper or The Tenth Circle.

Well, it's by Mitch Albom also, which is why I mentioned it. It's about a guy named Chick Benetto who used to be a ballplayer, but he was injured, so he couldn't play anymore. He became an alcoholic, and he goes back to his childhood home to commit suicide. But instead of dying, he gets the chance to spend one more day with his late mother. It sort of has a similiar message to Five People, so I'm sure you'd prob. like it.

Hope that helps!

I just got done reading "sTori Telling" by Tori Spelling. I had a couple thoughts while reading this book:

Why did I spend money on this?

Is this a book or a tabloid?

How does one have a best seller book when all one does is trash and make up lies about their former co-stars?

I love your dad Tori, can't really say the same for you.

Seriously, not trying to trash her or anything, I was just a little... disappointed.

Over the weekend I read a book that looked at the making of Bruce Springsteen's 1984 album Born In The USA and it's impact on popular culture. It was called Born In The USA by Gregory Himes. It is part of a series that includes books on The Beatles' Let It Be, The Stones' Exile On Main Street, Led Zeppelin IV among others.

Next I'm doing to start the Bee Gees biography that I posted above.

I just finished reading Dennis Lehane's amazing new novel, The Given Day. He is the author of Mystic River and Gone, Baby, Gone, and although this book is also set in his native Boston, it is a historical account of the civil unrest and turmoil that took place during the time of the Spanish Influenza pandemic and World War I in 1919. His best novel to date, and that is saying something!
