I'm currently rereading one of my all-time favorites, Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. It is a novel about a devout Christian farmer named Michael who obeys God's orders to marry a beautiful but bitter prostitute. I highly recommend this book...I stayed up all night reading it the first time. I just couldn't put it down!!!!

I'm rereading an old favorite, too, Monika. A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. I've read it like a bazillion times before, but I'm sucked in all over again, hehe. I def. recommend it. (The movie Simon Birch was loosely based on it. The movie's good, but the book is WAY better!)

It is!! It is actually based on the Old Testament book of Hosea, except the novel takes place in 1850s California during the Gold Rush. I LOVE the pioneer era, which is one of the many reasons I love this book!! :D

Catlover79, thanks for helping me pick out the next book I'm going to read. That sounds interesting. And I hate love stories. lol.

I just got done reading 'If Democrats had any brains, they'd be Republicans' by Ann Coulter. To any conservative: a must-read. If you liked Ann's other stuff, you'll like this one. She even tells who she favors in the '08 election.

I just ordered the first 6 Harry Potter books in mass market paperback format from Amazon for around $10 each. Not bad with free shipping too, so they will be what I'll be reading for a long time when they arrive. I was going to get Deathly Hallows too but it's not in mass market paperback yet and I'm cheap.

Two books I meant to read last year when I bought them I am finally reading. I'm about half way through the Tina Yothers' book and I just started the Family Ties' book. I set both aside last year, but they got forgotten about. Sometimes setting things aside can backfire. :) The Tina Yothers one I had read the first few pages of last year before it was set aisde to be read later on that day or the next, but obviously not meant to sit for this long. The other book I had not started reading yet.
Wow, I didn't even know Tina Yothers had written a book.

It's pretty impressive that she had a book published at 13. I recently went back and read a review that I wrote on the Led Zeppelin biography Hammer of the Gods by Stephen Davis in high school, and I was almost embarrassed at how poorly it was written. I received a B on it, but I could write a much better review now. And I was 17 when I wrote it.

The book is good, but it's very weird. I don't typically read books that are sci=fi and set in different centuries. This book takes place in 1985, 2005, 2085, and 2207..

This book reminds me a little of Back To The Future Part II, which was set in three different timelines. It sounds like an interesting book, though I have never heard of a science fiction writer named Linda Howard before. Of coruse, it isn't like I knew the name of every single science fiction writer who was ever born.

I'm currently finishing up a wonderful book called Redeeming Love, which Monika recommended. Monika also recommended another book called For What It's Worth that I ordered from a Christian bookstore that I plan to read. I also have a DS9 book, another book on England history, and a recent biography of the Beatles to read. Also, Stephen King has a new novel coming out tomorrow.

I have a great new book to recommend called "Milt & Marty: The Longest Lasting & Least Successful Comedy Writing Duo in Show Biz History." It's a novel by two guys (Tom Leopold and Bob Sand) with lots of sitcom credits (Seinfeld, Cheers, etc.) and it is really, really funny. Shows there is life beyond stand-up -- and it's a good counter-argument to throw at parents and other relatives who say scriptwriters aren't real writers. Hey, if you have a book, you're definitely a real writer, right?
