In John's "To The Moon" book, it says that Gingr Jones played Alice filling in for Pert Kelton. I'm assuming this episode wasn't filmed because I don't even know who Gingr Jones is. Anyone have any additional information?

DuMont was always the poor relation of the networks and, invariably, any major talent it nurtured would be lured away by the other broadcasters. Gleason was no exception - CBS signed the star for The Jackie Gleason Show (see footnote) and the entourage of players were sent out on a promotional tour, performing live at movie theatres across the country. The show - a mix of music and comedy - featured a Honeymooners segment, once again with Kelton as Alice, but when she became ill her place on the tour was taken by Gingr (sic) Jones. The tour was a marketing triumph and Gleason-awareness was increased nationally, ensuring a healthy viewing figure for the TV show that followed. Audrey Meadows was brought on board to play Alice in these CBS editions and the most famous Honeymooners line-up was now in place. The Jackie Gleason Show, for the period 1952-55, was a huge hit, with Gleason - nicknamed 'The Great One' - proving that the sobriquet described his talent as well as his physical stature.

I just found out that Gingr Jones actually played the nurse in "Ralph's Sweet Tooth." Pretty interesting, anyone know if she was in any other Honeymooners sketches?

I believe Gingr Jones died within the last few years.
