New Primetime Special to Highlight Top Ten Episodes Airs on TV Land
Saturday, January 14 at 10 P.M. ET/PT

Over 75 episodes to run in a marathon which starts
Saturday, January 14 at 6A.M. ET/PT

Santa Monica, CA, January 9, 2006 - From the infamous Sammy Davis Jr. kiss to the birth of Gloria and Mike's baby, TV Land's Top Ten will honor the show's 35th anniversary by counting down the top episodes from this legendary series. The all new installment will premiere on Saturday, January 14 at 10 P.M. ET/PT. The special, which ranks the most memorable, controversial and most talked about episodes from the groundbreaking comedy will include interviews from series producer Norman Lear to performers Rob Reiner, Jean Stapleton and Sally Struthers as well the late Carroll O'Connor, to name a few. These iconic Hollywood figures offer their insights about specific scenes and storylines as well as the behind-the-camera efforts that made the show the TV classic is it today. The series is being produced for TV Land by TV Land Productions in conjunction with Robert Small Entertainment.

In addition to the prime-time special, TV Land will complement the special by airing over 75 episodes in a two-day 48 hour tribute which will begin on Saturday, January 14 at 6 A.M. ET/PT.

All in the Family originally premiered on January 12, 1971 to mixed reviews and considerable fanfare. The show fearlessly tackled such topics as racism, feminism and the war raging in Vietnam and soon became a number one hit and the talk of the country with nearly 60 million households tuning into the show weekly. The sitcom revolves around blue-collar worker Archie Bunker (Carroll O'Connor) and his family. Bigoted, opinionated and uneducated, Archie makes no bones about his racial and political views, which are borne out of every negative stereotype imaginable. His "better half," his wife Edith (Jean Stapleton), who he not-too-affectionately refers to as "Dingbat," is ditzy and subservient, but her sweetness and good heart provide a perfect balance for the harsh character of Archie. Also residing in the Bunker house are Archie's daughter Gloria (Sally Struthers) and her college student/husband Michael Stivic (Rob Reiner). Some of the greatest commentary and comedic moments come from the verbal sparring between the narrow-minded Archie and the thoughtful, liberal "Meathead," as Archie insists on calling him.

Top Ten Episodes (Alphabetical order)

Edith's Accident - Edith damages a car, leaves a note and hilarity ensues
Henry's Farewell - First of appearance of George Jefferson (played by Sherman Hemsley)
Meet The Bunkers - The pilot episode which was three years in the making
Mike & Gloria's wedding - A flashback episode of Mike and Gloria's wedding day with poignant and emotional moments between Gloria and her parents
Mike meets Archie - A flashback episode which recounts the beginning of the very turbulent relationship between Archie and Mike
Sammy's Visit - Sammy Davis Jr. leaves a briefcase in Archie's cab and comes to the Bunker home to retrieve it.
The Baby - The fifth season episode where Gloria and Mike have a baby
The Bunkers & The Swingers - Edith answers a personal ad for new friends and accidentally invites swingers to her home
The Stivics Go West - Gloria and Mike move to California as Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers depart the series
Two's A Crowd - Archie and Mike get accidentally locked in a storeroom and have plenty of time to get to know each other better
