Absolutely horrible... I expected Emily and Jake to do badly, but this is unacceptable. I'm very surprised(and happy) about Wife Swap though.
CBS Dominates Monday, ABC Premieres Struggle
(Tuesday, January 10 08:44 AM)
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Fast National ratings for Monday, Jan. 9, 2006
CBS won every hour of primetime Monday to cruise to a ratings win, while ABC's post-"Monday Night Football" lineup fumbled its first time out.
For the night, CBS averaged a 10.1 rating/15 share among households. NBC finished second at 6.9/11. ABC's 5.3/8 was good for third, narrowly beating FOX's 5.2/8. The WB, 2.0/3, came in fifth, ahead of UPN, 1.9/3.
CBS also led among adults 18-49 with a 5.3 rating. NBC was second in the demographic with a 3.6, beating out ABC's 3.3 and FOX's 3.1. UPN and The WB tied for fifth at 1.1.
"The King of Queens," 7.9/11, and "How I Met Your Mother," 7.5/11, put
CBS in the lead at 8 p.m. "Wife Swap" posted a respectable 7.1/11 for ABC. "Surface," 5.4/8, was third for NBC, while FOX went with a "House" rerun to finish fourth. The WB's broadcast of the Critics' Choice Awards earned a 2.1/3. UPN trailed with repeats of "One on One" and "All of Us."
The Eye stayed on top at 9 p.m. with "Two and a Half Men," 10.9/16, and "Out of Practice," 9.1/14. "Las Vegas," 7.8/12, moved NBC, into second, and FOX took third with another episode of "House," 5.6/8. ABC didn't make much noise with the premieres of "Emily's Reasons Why Not," 4.4/6, and "Jake in Progress," 4.0/6. The Critics' Choice Awards held onto fifth for The WB, beating "Girlfriends" and "Half & Half" on UPN.
At 10 p.m., "CSI: Miami" scored the night's biggest audience with a 12.7/20. "Medium" averaged 7.5/12 for NBC, and the premiere of "The Bachelor: Paris" came in at 4.7/7.
All those promos too... what a disgrace. Oddly enough, Wife Swap barely got promoted and look how well it did, with no West Coast football inflation.
I'll be very surprised if these shows see February... ABC could run a movie from 9-11 and do better.
