Absolutely horrible... I expected Emily and Jake to do badly, but this is unacceptable. I'm very surprised(and happy) about Wife Swap though.

CBS Dominates Monday, ABC Premieres Struggle
(Tuesday, January 10 08:44 AM)

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Fast National ratings for Monday, Jan. 9, 2006

CBS won every hour of primetime Monday to cruise to a ratings win, while ABC's post-"Monday Night Football" lineup fumbled its first time out.

For the night, CBS averaged a 10.1 rating/15 share among households. NBC finished second at 6.9/11. ABC's 5.3/8 was good for third, narrowly beating FOX's 5.2/8. The WB, 2.0/3, came in fifth, ahead of UPN, 1.9/3.

CBS also led among adults 18-49 with a 5.3 rating. NBC was second in the demographic with a 3.6, beating out ABC's 3.3 and FOX's 3.1. UPN and The WB tied for fifth at 1.1.

"The King of Queens," 7.9/11, and "How I Met Your Mother," 7.5/11, put
CBS in the lead at 8 p.m. "Wife Swap" posted a respectable 7.1/11 for ABC. "Surface," 5.4/8, was third for NBC, while FOX went with a "House" rerun to finish fourth. The WB's broadcast of the Critics' Choice Awards earned a 2.1/3. UPN trailed with repeats of "One on One" and "All of Us."

The Eye stayed on top at 9 p.m. with "Two and a Half Men," 10.9/16, and "Out of Practice," 9.1/14. "Las Vegas," 7.8/12, moved NBC, into second, and FOX took third with another episode of "House," 5.6/8. ABC didn't make much noise with the premieres of "Emily's Reasons Why Not," 4.4/6, and "Jake in Progress," 4.0/6. The Critics' Choice Awards held onto fifth for The WB, beating "Girlfriends" and "Half & Half" on UPN.

At 10 p.m., "CSI: Miami" scored the night's biggest audience with a 12.7/20. "Medium" averaged 7.5/12 for NBC, and the premiere of "The Bachelor: Paris" came in at 4.7/7.

All those promos too... what a disgrace. Oddly enough, Wife Swap barely got promoted and look how well it did, with no West Coast football inflation.

I'll be very surprised if these shows see February... ABC could run a movie from 9-11 and do better.

and ABC got rid of Monday Night Football. They better do something with this night or next fall's going to be a real problem for them all year long.

It was completely stupid. I will not be back next week and in fact, I've already deleted the piece of crap. I want that half-hour back.

Jake in Progress was equally as bad. WHY was this renewed again?

One more thing, everyone who watched the shows and posted on other boards about it, hated it, so I expect LOWER ratings next week. (Is that possible?).

Yeah... why is ABC dumping football again?

They've got major problems and if they don't start working on it this season, it's going to get worse. I expect 9-11 to be completely different by March(The Bachelor will be over by then and Emily and Jake will probably have long been cancelled).

oooo...ouch. Oh well, ABC can't have all hits. And since these shows looked bad, then good riddance. And to think John Stamos could have gone to ER, which may be old, but at least people still watch it.

They shouldnt have cancelled Hot Properties, so that they could move Hope & Faith, and Hot Properties, plus their new drama inJustice to Mondays, and then they could have either dumped off Emily's Reasons and Jake in Progress to Fridays, or just gotten different shows.

I enjoyed both ERWN and JIP - I thought they were both pretty good. My only problem was with ERWN's over-reliance on narration in the beginning of the pilot.

I'm not that surprised they flopped, but its disappointing. They're both certainly better than the likes of Hope & Faith, Rodney, and According to Jim.

Emily is decent, the pilot wasn't excellent, but still decent enough. Now tonight's Crumbs is the best sitcom (four camera, at least) I've seen in years--tune in!
I was not home for Jake's season premiere and all my timers while I was on vacation didn't work because one day we had a power outage for a few minutes which caused the VCR's to reset. I had to download 1/8's DH.

BTW, see today's blog (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog) entry for news on Emily/Jake being pre-empted next week.

I'm looking forward to Crumbs... it does look like the best one in quite awhile(and certainly better than any on TV today).

Yep, Emily and Jake being pulled, that'll be the first of many pre-emptions. :p

I think the expansion of DWTS tomorrow is to help In Justice. Yeah it did decent(considering what ABC had been doing), but it could do better.

I can't help but notice all the promos for Emily and Jake have been pulled from primetime... I haven't seen a single one since during Wife Swap Monday Night. They just had during the last commerical break for DWTS a promo for the 2-hour The Bachelor event Monday.
