Question abt station TBS...

Sometime way back when, TBS used to have it's shows start at five minutes after the hour or 35 minutes after the hour, why was that?

I don't know, but I remember them doing that too. Like things would start at 10:35.

I remember, when I lived in Florida (1981-1983), TBS' shows all began five
minutes late (e.g., 8:05 instead of 8:00). I never understood why either.

Hmmm....I remember they did that. They stopped a few years ago. (like 2001).....Maybe they did that for the reason's that NBC Thursdays used to do it. They used to put friends on till a few after 8:30, and ER starts alittle before. It's some sort of strategy so viewer's won't change the station. Kinda dumb. But i liked when TBS did it. It was different.

I remember reading somewhere at the time, they did that so viewers wouldn't change the channel, or something-I know, I know, it doesn't make sense to me, either!!:confused: :confused:

I remember, they used to show "The Andy Griffith show" at 7:05, and whenever the news was over, my father would say "Joe, turn to Andy Griffith" (he didn't know what channel it was on, just that it was on!:lol: ) so, I'd turn and we'd always catch the last 5 minutes of "One Day At A Time" which was on before it.
