Question about some Lost Episodes

According Audrey Meadows book Love Alice, my life as a honeymooners, when getting the so called lost episodes together Jackie Gleason, Audrey Meadows and Jackie Gleasons wife sat at his home mami and decided what episodes Jackie Gleason wanted to use and ones he didn't. There are other episodes that are still out there. I hope they bring the tour to Europe 1957 episodes to dvd instead of those color episodes, its not the same with out Audrey Meadows and Joyce Randouph.

I've never heard of these shows, other than the "Six Months to Live" and "Stand in for Murder" remakes.

Just my thoughts and guesses. Most likely there are other remakes that we are not aware of. They are either lost, witheld because they duplicate other shows, or poor picture quality. Looking through my Honeymooner guides there are quite a few remaining gaps in the dates between shows over the course of the series run. Who knows? They may come out in the future.

Does the book list the Dumont episodes? Other than the 7 presented by the Disney Channel specials, there are the two Ed Sullivan toast of the town episodes "The Ring" and (dressing for the dance) that I exist. Any others out there? As for the Dumonts that apparently don't exist, mentioned in Honeymooners books in the past: Lost Baby (original version), Six Months to Live (original version), an episode where Ralph, Alice and Ed argue (virtually improvised). I wouldn't doubt that other early CBS shows were remakes of Dumont shows. Anyone else have more info on these?

Jack Benny did a Honeymooners sketch on his show. He played Ralph with the help of a pillow under his jacket and a toupee. Dennis Day played Norton and Alice was played by Audrey Meadows. Jack had all of the Kramden gestures down pat. It was real funny. There's another won that Red Skelton did on his show. Red played Norton and Peter Lorre played Ralph, the hearse driver.

Yes. That's the Red Skelton skit, with Peter Lorre. If I remember correctly, it runs about 8 minutes. That 1952 Honeymooners is "The Bread" episode, I believe. That's the one where Art plays a cop. The very first Honeymooners. Of course, you already knew that.

Yes. Peter Lorre plays Ralph the hearse driver. It fits in with the theme. I don't recall who plays Alice, but I recall she was dressed in black like Elvira or Morticia from the Addams Family. I got my tape of that show off of a Red Skelton videotape. I had so many that I don't recall which one. However, it clearly says on box that his guest is Peter Lorre. I don't remember if "Honeymooners" is referenced on the box though. If I find which tape, I'll let you know.

I've seen that Jack Benny skit. YEARS ago, I bought a VHS tape with the program on it from some company (I forget the name-but it was a mail order company) Jacks impression of Ralph is HILARIOUS!!!!:lol: :lol: The way he struts around the room!! And Dennis Day is also good as Norton.
