John Mayall, leader of the Bluesbreakers, is 72 today. Happy birthday to a great British blues musician who helped bring the blues back and gave us Eric Clapton, Peter Green, most of the rest of the original Fleetwood Mac, Mick Taylor, and drummer Aynsley Dunbar. His engineer on Bluesbreakers - John Mayall with Eric Clapton was Gus Dudgeon, who went on to produce Elton John. Thank you, Mister Mayall! :)
