This will either make people angry or extremely happy, but the Spin Doctors have finally released an album worthy as a followup to their 1991 release Pocket Full of Kryptonite, and it only took 14 years (sigh). I actually like some material from their other 1990s albums, but it was Pocket Full of Kryptonite that really got me started on the group and kept me as a fan.

The new album Nice Talking to Me was released by Universal a couple of months ago, and featured a whole list of great rock/pop/bluesy tunes. Anyone else a fan of the group that hasn't heard this yet? The first song, also the title track, signals a mature, straight forward rock tune, and it's great.

Also, there's free mp3s on the band's fan forum (posted legally):

The Spin Doctors had great potential back in 1992 and could have been one of the best bands of the decade, but they frittered it away with subsequent records that recycled the same hooks from "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong." What a pity! :(
