Movie Critic says that 50 Cents can't act at all, a poorly scripted mess of a movie, not much of a showcase. In other words, this movie is A$$-lol Honestly though, i think it's only for people who listen to his music. I'm sure they won't have a problem with the movie. So to sum it up, if you are not into HIP HOP, don;t go see this movie.

The New York Daily News gave it a negative review too. Ebert and Roeper said there wasn't that much music in it, so it might not just be all about hip hop. I want to see it, but I won't go to the theater to see it. I'm waiting until it comes out on dvd because I don't want to get stabbed.

:bonk: popcorn: R U Serious???? Man, I guess the Oscars are not in their future then...

BTW, it's movies like this that I bet Ebert wishes he could kill himself. on a lighter note, maybe he just goes to sleep while he is watching it.

u didn't say that in your post...u only said there wasn't much music...my remark reflects that if he said anything positive abt this movie is that he MUST HAVE BEEN ASLEEP...

That's surprising.

Ebert likes a lot of Black movies, seriously. Howard Stern jokes with him about it because Ebert as a Black girlfriend, I think. But yes, Ebert and Roeper reviewed it on their TV show this past weekend and they gave it two thumbs up.

My newspaper gave it a pretty good review. Then again, there's a large hip-hop influence in my area.

This is not so farfetched. Violent reactions to films like this are one of the reasons why certain inner city neighborhoods didn't/don't have cinemas.

On an unrelated note, there is male nudity in this film. Just how hardcore is 50 Cent supposed to be if he is stripping butt naked in a movie? His female and gay fans would probably pay to see it, but the hardcore crowd probably think he's making an A-- of himself.

Truthfully, I don't really get this guy's appeal as an entertainer. Judging from his videos I can't imagine that he has any type of acting skills. He's an extreme example of lowest common denominator marketing, like an urban male Paris Hilton.

You're still waiting for Al Jarreau to make his movie right? lol

I said that half jokingly, but I automatically expected to hear about something happening with movie. I'm glad that so far there haven't been any reports of any violence going on. If we get through the weekend with nothing happening, that'd be a good thing.

I think 50 Cent so intent on making himself look like he's going to be the next Tupac/rap legend. But anyway, I think the story looks interesting. There hasnt been anything out that has really interested me lately besides 40 Year Old Virgin...if I hear good reviews I'll probably see it...

Hopefully this link works. It's Roger Ebert's review (http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051110/REVIEWS/51107001) of the movie. He gave it three stars.

Well, that didn't last long...

50 Cent saddened by fatal shooting at movie theater

By Diane Bondareff, AP

HOMESTEAD, Pa. (AP) (AP) — 50 Cent said he was saddened by the fatal shooting at a theater where his movie Get Rich or Die Tryin' was playing.

"I feel for the victim's family in this situation," 50 Cent said on ABC's The View on Friday. "But you know, these weren't kids. This was a 30-year-old man (who) had a dispute with three other guys."

Shelton Flowers, 30, was shot at least three times Wednesday night after he got into an argument with another man inside a Loews multiplex just east of Pittsburgh.

Allegheny County police said Flowers had just watched 50 Cent's movie and got into a confrontation with three men in the bathroom. A fight ensued and spilled out into the concessions area, where Flowers was shot, police said.

No one has been arrested.

It was not known what movie the three men had seen, but John McCauley, the vice president of marketing for Loews Corp., said the company decided to stop showing it at the theater during the investigation.

That's the main reason I would never go see this movie. Not my type of crowd. Too many hoodlums. 75% of the people going to see this movie probably are unemployed-lol

Solomon you're wack. You can't stand hip hop music? All rap music isn't bad like you think it is. I saw Get Rich Or Die Tryin last Saturday and it was alright. Terrence Howard, Bill Duke, Mykelti Williamson, Joy Bryant are in it. They're good actors. Roger Ebert's woman is black. The only male nude scene was when Terrence Howard and 50 Cent were taking a shower in prison with 2 other male inmates. Terrence and 50 got into a fight with the 2 male inmates. That scene was funny because Terrence was running away from one of the dudes hahahahahahahahahaha. Another nude scene is when Joy Bryant and 50 were having sex. They showed Joy's breasts and that's it.
