Why don't they make it easier and just make ALL the holidays decorated on the respective days? I think it'll be quite cool and festive.

Oh come now................ The American's were the first to proclaim a Thanksgiving holiday. This thread was only to celebrate this holiday. Wow! Aren't we being touchy? Get over it! Well, I do wish you Canadian's a happy Thanksgiving! I have several Canadian friends. No offense intended.:( And also this being an American originated web site ...................... Sorry if this offends anyone!:( Excuse me!

I love the holiday themes. I decorate my home like a crazy person for every holiday. I just don't care for the black background on this site. It's too difficult to read. It could be my lousy eyesight. I don't know, but I had a hard time with it.

I like seeing themes for all the holidays (especially Halloween ;) ).
It's something different and fun to look at the screen with holiday-type images.

Janice and Marlene, having an interest in health and medicine, in what way is your eyesight "failing?"
I'm guessing you're talking about presbyopia. However, remember that extra vitamin C can dely, and possibly prevent, cataracts and age-related macular degeneration.

My eyesight started failing in my late 20's but now in my 50's I think it is just a matter of aging:eek: I cannot see or read anything clearly unless I have a lot of light. I cannot speak for Janice as she is quite a few years younger than I. But anything thing written on a dark page(as the Halloween theme was) is difficult for me to read.

Hmmm, there is no actal cause- just aging?
You might try a vitamin A supplement (but check with your doctor first).

I dunno, dispite sarcasm, I think he has a point. There are people from all over that come here. What's wrong with honoring a day that is important to them in their country? Not to sure about honoring Thanksgiving twice in a year though considering Canadian Thansgiving happens in October and I'm not to sure about other countries, But I don't see why there can't be a Canada Day theme outside of the fact that it happens three days before Independance Day and you'de have your hands full on changing themes so often.

1) this is an American originated site...
2) What makes Canada so special then? Wheres the theme for French holidays, Spanish holidays, Russian holidays....poor Seth.

Besides, I don't think there was even a theme for the 4th of July..correct me if I'm wrong. But anyway, if people care so much about their holidays being celebrated, maybe that's what they should be doing, and not being overly concerned about the layout of their favorite TV Sitcom website.

If I was seth i'd say "screw it" and boycott making themes. People bitch too much about something that's GIVEN to them.

I miss Cathie. She would never start talking about Sitcoms Online discriminating Canada.

If it bothers you that bad, no one is sure forcing you stay here.
I miss her too :( and I agree. If this site was based in England I would never think of coming onto it and yelling because American Holidays weren't celebrated there.

I hadn't even planned on doing a Thanksgiving (US) theme in the first place, and this thread reminded me why. A LARGE number of SO visitors...AREN'T FROM THE US...and the Thanksgiving that's celebrated in the states...is just another day everywhere else in pretty much the rest of the world.

And let's be realistic: If I made a theme for every national holiday of every country represented on SO, I'd be working 309 days out of the year on an unpaid gig.

So, rather than blow myself up making themes for everyone, or having a large number of users getting ignored, I try to ignore things like Thanksgiving (US), Thanksgiving (canada), Bastille Day, American Independence Day, Canada Day, Constitution Day [Insert Country Here], etc. altogether as themes.

Seriously, THE BOARDS CHANGE COLORS FOR A DAY. Wow. Its nice, but its not something people need to go all balistic about.
