I watched the show a lot while it was on, but in the last year I got stuck on it. At least everyday I'll catch an episode. I remember when I first saw the finale, I was a LITTLE disapointed. Mostly because I though Jerry and Elaine would get married or something, but then I thought maybe there will be a Reunion episode the next year since they only got sentenced for one year. But now that I look back at the finale, it was good. Besides, in almost every episode, while it ended on a good note, the fab four never got lucky or anything, so it made sense for them to go to jail in the end.
All in all, it was a great show, probably the best ever.

Nah - I don't agree. I only just saw 'The Finale' last Sunday night (it was on Sky1) and I totally understand now why everyone was saying it was such a huge let-down.
'Seinfeld' is a great show - it usually has me laughing out-loud through EVERY episode but I barely raised a smile through 'The Finale'. The only bit that I really laughed at was when Newman went nuts at Jerry for not letting him fly in the private jet. And, of course, the bit with the Soup Nazi. Other than that I thought the whole episode was pretty crap!

I always picture a year later, the gang being released and George complaining " WHAT? NO NEW SUIT? IN PRISION MOVIES THEY ALWAYS GET A NEW SUIT! I BET TED DANSUN WOULD'VE GOT A NEW SUIT!"

I'm with Pete.
Looking back now, at least it was different & not what I expected.
Here's my post from a previous, similar thread ( The Finale: like it or hate it? (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=60762&page=3&pp=15&highlight=finale) ):
>>>I'm with the ones who thought it sucked when it aired, & now with 7-8 years of perspective, I like it much better.
At 1st it was like they just tried to run every schtick from the series. At least they tried something different & original, yet kept it Seinfeldian, and different from the other typical sitcoms that try to go off the air bizarro-like.
Also, we knew it before, the the finale really made us aware and look back at how our fab four truely embraced a "callous indifference and utter disregard for everything that is good and decent that has rocked the very foundation upon which our society is built"
Nice group our Fab4<<<

I remember when I watched the finale and feeling disappointed, but it was probably because I knew I would never see this group of characters again. I was hoping for a renuion also after a year, but I guess in hindsight it's best this way.

I think Jerry Seinfeld's decision to end the show when he did was brilliant. He's not stupid,he knew that Seinfeld was very popular when it ended, and people were still going to watch the re runs.I wish it never ended though,I cant get enough of the reruns now.:D

it was very funny, but if i were the writer, i wouldve approached it differently.
PS- This is my first post on the Seinfeld board! I have over 130 posts in other boards, and ever since i joined 12 days ago, i couldnt think of anything to post on this board! well, after all, this is supposed to be a board about nothing isnt it? (lol)
