I have heard before that Roseanne was originally going to be called Life and Stuff and that Married...With Children was supposed to be called We're Not The Cosby's. So My question is: Is there any sitcoms that you know of that had a diffenrent title in the begining? also you can add one that you would think would fit the show, you think are funny or that you have heard before...

Have Fun :)

"Friends" went through several titles before it aired, such as "Friends Like Us," "Six of One," "Across the Hall" and "Insomnia Cafe."

The "Seinfeld" pilot was "The Seinfeld Chronicles," but it was shortened for the remaining first season episodes to avoid confusion with another show that had "The __ Chronicles" in its title. Also, during the script stage, the show was called "Stand Up."

Not much of a difference, but "Frasier" was originally going to have the awkward title of "Dr. Frasier Crane."

I read that one name suggested for "Malcolm in the Middle", before they settled with the eventual name, was "Fighting in Underpants."

That '70s Show was going to be called a lot of things... Teenage Wasteland, Feelin' Alright, I think Reelin' In the Years was considered, probably several other song titles from that particular decade.

Something else I just thought of...

When I was in college ('95 or '96) FOX had a show called Too Something which was so nondescript they actually had a "Rename-this-show" contest for their viewers (all 3 of them, he he he) and they actually renamed it. Didn't help their ratings any, like anyone noticed it.

The original name was going to be "True Calling," so there wasn't too much of a change there.

Reba was also going to be called "Deep in the Heart"

"The Lucy Show" had a couple of different working titles: "The Lucille Ball Show" and "They Love Lucy".

The pilot script for "The Brady Bunch" was originally titled "Yours & Mine". At one point, they also considered "The Brady Brood", but felt it sounded too much like a horror movie.

"All in the Family" had two other working titles: "Justice For All" and "Those Were the Days" (in fact, I believe one of the two unaired pilots is titled "Those Were the Days").

The working title for "Leave it to Beaver" was "It's a Small World".

"Petticoat Junction" was referred to as "Whistle Stop" during its development.

The working title of "The Partridge Family" was "Family Business".

"Facts of Life" at one time was going to be called "Garrett's Girls".

"Archie Bunker's Place" was originally announced as "Archie's Place," but CBS had concerns that some "All in the Family" viewers wouldn't realize the two shows were connected without "Bunker" in the title.

"The Golden Palace" was at one time referred to as "Golden Towers" during development.

THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW was originally titled HEAD OF THE FAMILY (Carl
Reiner wrote and starred in the pilot with Barbara Britton as his wife, Sylvia
Miles as Sally Rogers, and Morty Gunty as Buddy Sorrell). Reiner says the pilot
was aired on July 19, 1960. After several cast changes, the series (now called
THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW) made its debut on Oct. 3, 1961, with Van Dyke,
Mary Tyler Moore, Rose Marie, and Morey Amsterdam.
