The following news should come as no surprise to Canadian TV viewers but should amuse and enlighten most of you from south of the border. You see, ever since the beginning of TV, Canadians for the most part prefer to watch US programming rather than their own. Even though homegrown series like "Corner Gas" and "Trailer Park Boys" draw many viewers and have many loyal fans up here, put them up against heavyweights like "Desperate Housewives" or "Lost", and you'll need a microscope to even find that they exist. The only exception seems to be "Hockey Night In Canada" which is fine with me since I'm a huge hockey fan and there's nothing else to watch on Saturday night. The following article will explain it all:

That's basically true except for Quebec where their Top 30 TV shows are Canadian/Quebec produced.

I am Canadian, but I live in Windsor (which borders America) so all the local channels I get are the Detroit channels.(and CBC of coarse) I agree that most Canadian programming sucks.(with the exception of "Hockey Night In Canada")

I watch 1 Canadian made show, Trailer Park Boys. All the rest I watch are American-made.
