I don't know if music will play a big part in every episode, but I thought it'd be a good idea to keep track of all the music heard on the broadcast episodes, just to compare when the eventual dvd is released. If it's anything like the first episode, music costs will be crazy. I'm familiar with a lot of 80s music, so I plan on updating this after each episode.
Episode: Everyone Hates The Pilot
Get Down On It - Kool & The Gang
I Wish - Stevie Wonder
A Woman Needs Love - Ray Parker Jr.
It's Like That - Run DMC
That Girl - Stevie Wonder
Funkytown - Lipps Inc.
Candy - Cameo
Say It Isn't So - Hall & Oates
Don't Stand So Close To Me - The Police
Eye of The Tiger - Survivor
Ebony & Ivory - Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder
Good Times - Chic

Watching the pilot again, I missed Funkytown the first time around, so that's been added to the list. I think I've got everything.
The original cut had The Sugarhill Gang's "Apache" in place of "Good Times." Also, it had another song that was removed for the final air version (right before the fight scene in the street). What's the name of it... it's at the tip of my tongue... well, I'm sure it'll come to me.

I asked on the SoulDetroit music forum , and apparently it is the Natalie Cole original .
They say it's the intro looped over and over again .

at 8:08, there is a r&b rendition of the song "Auld Lang Syne"
My question is who sings this version?
There's over 150 track listings of "Auld Lang Syne" on itunes store and I cannot find the right one. Help, this particular track is driving me crazy and I want the full version. Thanks.
