Notice how almost every AITF Christmas episode is not a happy one.It seems that Christmas wasn't a happy time for this family.
There was"Edith's Christmas Story"where Edith gets a lump on her breast.
In"The Draft Dodger"Mike had a friend who had moved to Canada because he didn't feel free or safe in the US.When he explained this to Archie,Archie hit the roof.In fact I don't think I ever heard Archie holler as loud as he did in this episode.
The following year saw the two part episode"Edith's Crises Of Faith",where Edith shared a special bond with Beverly LaSalle, only to have it end tragically after Beverly was beaten to death on the way to a local theatre where he was to perform.
The year after that, there was the two parter"California Here We Are",where the Bunkers were reunited with the Stivics in the Stivics' new California home.Only to discover that Mike and Gloria had seperated and where looking into getting divorced.
So I think it would be safe to say that, all in all,the Bunkers didn't fare very well at Christmas time.
