The age old debate rages on.
Which one do you prefer? Beyond the sheer volume of The Wall, I still would prefer to have it over Dark Side if I could only have one.
Though a technical and audial marvel, Dark Side never struck the chord that The Wall did for me. Perhaps because I was around 13 when The Wall was released and it was all over the airwaves. Whatever the reason, songs like Mother, Goodbye Blue Sky, Run Like Hell, Comfortably Numb, Hey You, One of My Turns, Nobody Home, The Thin Ice, Young Lust- ah hell the whole damn thing is just a cerberal experience and one of the best albums of all time.
Going to have to go with DSOTM here. Lots of good times with that album. Back in my more rowdy days, I used to get baked out of my gourde and listen to the 5.1 surround mix of the album on SACD in the middle of a dark room. Good fun.
I still get a lot of enjoyment out of Dark Side Of The Moon, even now that I'm clean and sober. It's 40 minutes of sheer entertainment. Albums like that just don't pop up every day.
The Wall, on the other hand, I've always found pretentious and boring. While the album does have some good tracks, I could never listen to it in one sitting.

Dark Side. It flows better and it's tighter. I don't even own The Wall anymore.

I'm sure we attended the same parties!!! Ahhh - the days of blowin' yer mind and grooving on Breathe, Lunatic, Time etc.......
I've even tried to keep the lyrics of "Time" in mind when growing up - so easy to waste in your youth! ;)
The Wall was a good album, but Dark Side is an absolute classic!

For me it's definitely DSotM. The only two songs on it that I don't like are "On the Run" and "Any Colour You Like."

The Wall, definately-- no doubts about it! While I love Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall definately changed my life ( sounds cheesy, but it did!) It's a mind-blowing album-- especially after seeing the movie as well!
