She still looks good to be 40 years old. I know she's in the new movie Must Like Dogs with John Cusack & Elizabeth Perkins which comes out tomorrow. I saw her on the Today Show a few days ago talkin about the movie. She's always been a hottie in my opinion. When i saw her in The Big Town movie with Matt Dillon & Tommy Lee Jones, i was hooked because she was so sexy in that movie. I saw her in The Outsiders, Rumblefish, The Cotton Club movies before The Big Town but i really became a big fan of her's after The Big Town. Her husband is a lucky man.

she's great, but I wish people would get over her age.
She's younger than Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp, when do people ever call them "old"? Yet it seems like they always mention Diane's age.

It's probably because she had sucess for quite a long time now, and has been around a long time since the early 80s and I guess when celebirty's careers are that long people tend to think of them as old.

'Unfaithful' was the only thing I liked her in. Her other stuff seems too chick-flick-like.
i dont like her too much-sometimes it seems as if all her movies have the same plot

I know what you mean! How come when people refer to a handsome man, he age almost never comes up (unless he's into his 60s or something), but when speaking of females, the age factor always seems to get brought into it - "she looks great - for her age"!! Screw that! I know of many women who get better looking into their 30s, 40s and 50s even.
It was so nice to have someone say to me recently that they think I'm prettier now than I was 10 or 15 years ago!!! (They might be b.s.ing me, but why bother saying it then).
I find as I've gotten older, my whole standards of beauty have changed. If you asked me in my twenties about Oprah's looks I sure wouldn't have said what I say today - that she's a beautiful woman ('course when you see her - she HAS gotten better looking herself).
Look at the Desperate Housewives - outside of Eva, they're all "up there" and are on all the magazines.

I was in my prime in my 40's. Now I am in my 50's and I am sliding backwards(or forward?) One day you youngsters will appreciate "older women" :D
Oh............... I wish I were 40 again!....................sigh............

exactly, nobody talks about the makeup (yes, male celebrities have it, just not the way women wear them) Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp does that makes them look good "for a 42 year old". It's sad that Hollywood celebrates older male actors like Sean Connery, Paul Newman, Robert DeNiro, etc.... but yet even the biggest female actresses get put out to pasture at a certain age, when was the last time you saw Jessica Lange, Michelle Pfeiffer or Kathleen Turner given the lead in a non-independent feature? Their male counterparts were able to keep getting roles as they got older.
That is a prime thing that is so good about television. We've had TV shows in the past such as Murder She Wrote and The Golden Girls that starred and glorified actresses who weren't just over 40, but over SIXTY and still kicking. Four of the five leads on Desperate Housewives are over the age of 40 and people love them. Kim Cattrall was well into her 40's on Sex And The City and was considered a sex symbol. None of this would happen in cinema.
One thing a lot of people might not realize is that perhaps the biggest female TV star was in her 40's when her show was on... Lucille Ball. She was as A-list as you got in the 1950's and I doubt people were age obsessed about her then as they would be today.

Plus, that's when most women have settled down, accepted their looks, have more self-esteem and are less inhibited, therefore, usually much more interesting in the bedroom! ;) :p

well, you know something's wrong when 10 year olds in Hollywood look 5, Dakota Fanning looks younger than any girls who were 11 when I was 11.
Hell, the fat kid in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory is 16 and you wouldn't think he's older than 10.

Brian that's a nice picture of Diane. I saw her a couple of weeks ago in the movie Gunshy with William Petersen & Michael Wincott. That's a good movie. She looked so good in that movie.

I still have a soft spot for "Streets of Fire", not because of Diane Lane but because of the great Stoney Jackson. :p

Paramount should release Diane's movie Ladies and Gentleman...The Fabulous Stains. I still have an old VHS tape of it that I recorded back in 1984 or 1985. I'm surprised it still plays.
