As far as parenting goes, the decision to send Francis to military school STINKS!
Francis was not a hard core criminal. He was not selling dope or mugging anyone's grandma. He's just a little wild. I've got a best friend a lot like him.
He's been there for a year and a half. In that time, he's been beaten up, had his head shaved, been subject to the disciplinary whims of Spangler(the pool game), and in general, had his youth taken away from him by Lois. As his mother, how can she live with the abuse he has suffered there. Yet, she can't understand his rebellious and vengeful feelings towards her? If it was me and it was real life, I would NEVER! forgive her.
If a year and half plus has not converted Francis into Wally Cleaver, it's never going to happen.
