I need to know though. For anyone who's been to one of his concerts, do people act the way they do at say a dave matthews concert? I love John Mayer but I don't want to be in the middle of a big alcohol/pot fest.

At the risk of sounding stupid, I had never heard of him, but I just went to his website and had a listen of his new song. He's good! Damn good!

A lot of "old" band influences in his style I can tell. Just the sort of music I like listening to. I'm going to be keeping my ears open for this guy! Thanks for bringing it to our attention Peter!

I am a huge John Mayer fan. I know this is an old thread but hopefully I can bump it back up again ;)

His music is incredible. It's calming, yet the jazz/blues influence makes it catchy. And the lyrics are fantastic. Go check out a live guitar solo too.

I believe he was born in Bridgeport, CT but grew up in Fairfield, CT. He did move to Georgia where he started off musically and gained success. He has an apartment in NYC and also LA I think. I'm not sure where he is as of right now.

I plan on attending a concert this February and would also like to know. Judging by the shots of the crowd in his DVD Any Given Thursday it doesn't look too bad, but I realize this was a DVD and is probably a little different from actually being there. :rolleyes:
