I have been told by my father that my grandfather met Jackie Gleason and Jackie dropped my last name in an episode. The reference has something to do with Ralph yelling out the window telling McGarry to keep the noise down or something like that. It might also have to do with Ralph making noise and McGarry coming in to tell him to keep it down. I think it might be in the 99,000 answer or the lost episode where Ralph becomes norton's landlord. Any assistance in locating this reference would be greatly appreciated since this is a cool piece of family lore.

His name is Garrity and sometimes referred to as McGarrity. I don't think they ever give his first name. He lives upstairs from the Kramdens. What usually happens is Ralph, in the midst of a money-making scheme (like in $99,000 Answer that you mentioned) starts making too much noise. Then, you hear McGarrity yelling for him to be quiet because he can't sleep. Then, Ralph goes to the window, sticks his head out, and yells something back to McGarrity. Once or twice, McGarrity actually came down to voice his complaint....back to your question.....what's your last name (if you care to give it)....it would probably have been mentioned in the context of the name being of some neighbor in the building. Gleason often used names of people he was associated with in real life (sometimes as part of his show), as characters on his show. Some of the lodge members (Brother Jerry Shor after Toots Shor, Brother Poss after Stanley Poss, Brother Durgom after Bullets Durgom, Brother Hurdle after Jack Hurdle, Brother Hanley after Eddie Hanley, Jack Philbin after Jack Philbin (correct..he used first and last name) .....and there were neighbors too....sorry for rambling.
