Anyone notice how similar the careers of David Ruffin and Bobby Brown are? Both were kicked out by their groups twice, both had relevent success as solo artest, and both had drug problems.

Differences are is that Ruffin was the lead singer of the Temptation, while Brown was not the lead singer of New Edition.

If you compair overal work or just pure talent, I would say Ruffin. Some say that Ruffin when he is stoned is better than Brown sober. But if you are only talking about solo career, I have to say Brown.

David Ruffin is not in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artest, Bobby Brown as an outside, maybe chance of getting in as a solo artest.

What do you think?

I think Bobby Brown is better than David Ruffin solo. Bobby had a lot of hits when he was solo. David didn't have that many hits solo. The scene in The Temptations movie cracks me up when Leon who is playing David Ruffin goes to a drug house to buy some drugs. Leon says to the drug dealer, hook me up with some stuff. The drug dealer says we deal with cash my man. Leon says i'm David Ruffin. The drug dealer said so. Who are you hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. So Leon gave him a ticket to a Temptations concert. The drug dealer said this ticket says for Saturday. Leon said yeah. The drug dealer said but today is Sunday LOL. So Leon gave the dude the keys to his car to get some drugs. The drug dealer said your car better be outside LOL. Leon was snatching the drugs from him. I said wow, the things that people do for drugs.
