Oh Yes. :p

A lot of waiting though... usually don't see much activity until August.

Actually, a little trivia here - today's the 20th anniversary of a wicked tornado that ripped through central Ontario in 1985 killing 11 people and causing $150 million in damages. I was living in Toronto when it happened, but now am living closer to the area that was affected. Lots of roadside memorials have been put out. It looked like a war zone - surprising really that only 11 people were killed.

Yeah, I remember Hurricane Andrew didn't hit until late August and last year, Charley came through here on Aug.13th. One of the good things about hurricane season, believe it or not, is it rains alot more, and I'm not talking about when a hurricane goes through. I'm talking about the almost daily afternoon storms. It's been raining on & off since yesterday here, and we certainly need it!!

BTW, I love the "Welcome to Florida" sign on the cartoons!! Kind of makes me wish the tourism board would consider that design!!

The peak isn't til Mid-September. Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne all hit within 3 weeks in September. Charley was actually the strongest hurricane to hit the U.S. that early.

June and July activity is unusual, but not unheard of. Alex didn't form til August 1st last year.

They'll get to Laura and Ashlee eventually. Remeber, they've only named hurricanes for about fifty years. You just need to give them time. :)

Everyone stay safe.

The raw power of your name will haunt millions of people. Use that power against your enemies! The world will bow down to you!

I don't think I'd want my name used for a hurricane!!

I don't think it's been used, although there is a close "Italian" version on the list Brent provided. Guess that's as close as it'll get so I'm safe!!

2007 Andrea is on the list. Replaced Allison, the only tropical storm name EVER retired(massive flooding in Southeast Texas in June 2001).

 Yeah, when Allison hit us in Houston it was pretty devastating. I won't ever forget that.
