Reminder: Rough schedules are always wildly disparate from final release. Remember, ABC's Roughie for 04 had Desperate Housewives Wed. at 10, Eyes Sun at 9, Grey's Anatomy Wednesday at 8, Lost Monday at 8, Less than Perfect on Tuesday, and Rodney on Friday, among a couple other things.

heh...I hope they leave Alias there and Survivor kills it.

I hope that is know where near the actual schedule because streaching all those sitcoms across that many days sucks

Wow, possibly separating Alias and Lost? Why is ABC being stupid again?
Granted, this is a very rough schedule (just to remind people, NBC's rough copy and the real schedule were very, very different) but it plainly sucks, IMO. Some good moves, but some bad ones too.

For ABC's sake... I hope the real schedule is MUCH different. That looks like a disaster.

That's exactly what will happen. Thursdays at 8PM is a tough spot for Alias. I'm sure it can survive (no pun intended) but it's going to take a beating. Sure Joey doesn't get HUGE ratings but it still gets enough and Survivor regularly averages 18-20 million viewers a week.
And I'm in total agreement with you Brent. This schedule does look like a disaster. The major one is George Lopez and Freddie leading into Lost. HUH? LOL.

The Night Stalker against CSI and The Apprentice?

If ABC is smart, they will keep Alias on Wednesday... but if they wnat to move it, don't put it on Thursday. If you want to give Survivor competition, put Lost there... ALias needs to stay strong

Sounds like the schedule might be a lot closer to right than the rumored NBC's ones were, from TV Guide:
UPFRONT WEEK CONTINUES...: If Jennifer Garner's rumored pregnancy doesn't derail the fifth season of Alias, this certainly will: ABC is shifting the spy thriller to Thursdays at 8 pm. The resurgent network is also moving Lost back an hour, to Wednesdays at 9 pm. It's all part of an aggressive new fall schedule that features six new dramas and five new comedies. The new shows include the alien conspiracy thriller Invasion, comedies starring Freddie Prinze Jr., Fred Savage and Heather Graham, and Commander in Chief, featuring Geena Davis as the first female president. Gone are My Wife & Kids, 8 Simple Rules, Complete Savages, Blind Justice and Eyes. And in a head-scratcher of a decision, the net has opted not to euthanize The Bachelor; the ailing franchise will return at midseason after Monday Night Football wraps. So, let me get this straight: Eyes is dead but The Bachelor is alive and kicking? OK, just checking.

Before that happens, however, Mackenzie, who serves as Vice President, has to decide whether or not to go against the dying wishes of the current President, who has asked her to step down and let someone "more appropriate" fill his shoes in the Oval Office. Not only does the President want her to resign, so does the entire party that elected her in the first place.
But when the moment of truth arrives, Mackenzie isn't willing to be a mere footnote in history. Instead of allowing her detractors to keep her down, she decides to trust her instincts and accept the most powerful job in the world.

Freddie is a young, successful chef with his own restaurant, a stylish bachelor pad and a trust fund baby for a best friend. The world should be Freddie’s oyster at this stage in life, but bachelorhood isn’t working out exactly as he envisioned.
Freddie loved growing up in a house full of women. He loved the energy of everyone running around, loved cooking for them all, but now he's finally realizing why his father used to lock himself in the bathroom just for some peace and quiet. Still, Freddie believes family always comes first, which is why he insisted his sister, sister-in-law, niece and grandmother come live with him after his brother passed away. Slowly but surely they are taking over his domain, and voicing their many opinions about his love life. Freddie will have to learn to balance his role as provider, brother, grandson, and uncle, all while trying to enjoy what should be his swinging single days.

Married to a handsome 25-year-old, fortysomething Ava Summerlin wants to start a family, while self-improvement junkie Chloe would settle for any guy who can remember her the next day. Recently divorced, after being married ten years to a gay man, voluptuous Lola dreads jumping back into the dating pool, and the latest addition to this eclectic work group is rich girl Emerson Ives, who instantly bonds with the women upon learning that her supposedly virginal fiancé was anything but. When yet another devastating hurricane threatens Florida, temporarily cutting off a small town at the edge of the Everglades, U.S. Park Ranger Russell Poole takes heroic measures to keep both the town’s
citizens and his family safe. In the middle of the violent storm, his young daughter is the only one to see small lights floating towards the water, seemingly unaffected by the vicious winds. At the time he thinks nothing of her claim, but begins to suspect that something may indeed be amiss when his missing ex-wife is found naked, with no memory of what happened during the storm.
As the tiny town struggles to recover while his nemesis, the Sheriff, quarantines the entire area, Poole begins to investigate the strange goings on, unwittingly beginning a fight for the survival of the human race.

MIDSEASON
“Crumbs” (half-hour comedy) -- Family is enough to drive anyone a little crazy. Children keep secrets from their parents so they won't upset them, dads leave for other women and moms try to run over dads with the car. Actually, that was the point that the Crumb family realized Mom was crazy.
Estranged brothers Mitch and Jody Crumb reunite in their small hometown to deal with their mother, Suzanne, who is being released from a psychiatric country club and has yet to discover that her ex-husband, Billy, is about to have a baby with his new girlfriend. They have issues… major issues. Central to everything is the dynamic between these two brothers: Mitch is the prodigal son who is returning home after a failed Hollywood career, and Jody is the older brother who has stayed in the confines of their small New England town to run the family business. Together for the first time as adults, this family will have to stick by one another despite their combustible relationships.

She didn’t get to this place in life by accident. She worked hard and always followed a set of self-imposed guidelines referred to as the “Reasons.” Reasons why not to take that new job offer, reasons why not to tell a vacation fling to look you up if he’s ever in Los Angeles, reasons why not to trust your crafty, back-stabbing former assistant, Glitter Cho. However, when Emily crosses professional lines and gets involved with the roguishly handsome, two-timing author of their new bestseller, there’s no denying that somewhere along the way her internal GPS system crashed. She’s got to get back on track, and once again be heedful of the trustworthy reasons that help her navigate her way through life.

“The Evidence” (one-hour drama) -- People lie. The evidence doesn't. It's the foundation of every conviction – with evidence, justice is possible; without evidence, guilty men walk free.
Acclaimed producer John Wells, (“ER,” “The West Wing,” “Third Watch”) and director Gary Fleder (“Blind Justice,” “Runaway Jury”) put a twist on the standard police procedural. At the top of each episode, all of the clues (a locket, a phone, a severed finger) are revealed in a videotaped evidence log. The show then flashes to the day the crime was committed and invites viewers to play along with the heroes as they find each clue, determine its meaning, put the pieces of the puzzle together and figure out who done it.
No one knows the importance of evidence more than Inspector Sean Cole. After he lost his wife in a brutal murder, the only evidence the cops had was accidentally destroyed, and it ruined his faith in the system. Fortunately his partner and best friend, Bishop, is there for him, pulling him back to work, pushing him forward, as they both try to solve these complex cases set against the beautiful streets of San Francisco.

Orlando Jones (“Mad TV,” “Runaway Jury”): Cayman Bishop
Nicky Katt (“Boston Public”): Inspector Sean Cole
Martin Landau (“Ed Wood”): Dr. Sol Gold
Credits:
Executive Producers/Writers: Sam Baum, Dustin Thomason
Executive Producer/Director: Gary Fleder (“The Shield,” “Runaway Jury”)

“In Justice” (one-hour drama) -- There are a lot of procedurals on the air that focus on putting people in jail. This is a show about getting them out.
very year, hundreds of innocent men and women get convicted of crimes they didn't commit. Sloppy police work. False testimony. Biased juries. In the blink of an eye an innocent man can lose his life to the mistakes of an imperfect system. And every year the number of innocents who live without hope behind bars multiplies, while the real criminals walk free.
The innocent have finally found a champion in a blustery but charismatic attorney named David Swayne. A legendary litigator, Swayne is the head of the Justice Project, a high-profile, non-profit organization made up of hungry young associates who fight to overturn wrongful convictions, liberate the falsely accused and discover the identity of those really to blame. Whether the ego-driven Swayne is doing this in the pursuit of justice or publicity remains to be seen. Thank goodness he has his partner, crackerjack investigator and ex-cop Charles Conti, to keep him honest. He's the serious to Swayne's swagger, and together they work to rectify the mistakes of the justice system one case at a time.
Using real life stories as inspiration, the producers of “life as we know it” have created a legal drama reminiscent of “Reversal of Fortune,” in which clients who are presumed guilty must ultimately be proven innocent.
Cast:
Jason O'Mara (“The Agency”): Charles Conti
Kyle MacLachlan (“Twin Peaks,” “Sex and the City”): David Swayne
Constance Zimmer (“Good Morning, Miami”): Brianna
Daniel Cosgrove (“Beverly Hills, 90210”): Jon

The team will utilize their extraordinary expertise in cutting edge medical technology to restore not only the health but also the hope of the patient. Each episode will feature some of the world's most renowned medical experts performing breakthrough procedures to heal those who need it most, making possible what was previously thought impossible. “Sons & Daughters” (half-hour comedy) -- Family is always unpredictable, so why write a family comedy when you can live dangerously and improvise instead? Like real families, you never know what will happen when you give characters total freedom.
Adult siblings Cameron, Sharon and Jenna have many years of shared history in this small town. Like every other family on the planet, their history includes many mistakes. This is proven by the multiple marriages and many children in their close extended clan. Sharon has postponed her mid-life crisis for the sake of her kids, but her sexless marriage, slacker son and nosey daughter don't make things easy for her. Jenna, the youngest, wanted to be a singer, but instead is a single mom who still lives at home. Luckily her parents love babysitting their grandson. Middle child Cameron, despite having kids from two marriages and a difficult relationship with his oldest son, Henry, is the glue that holds the family together. With all the messy interpersonal relationships, rivalries and religious differences, everyone needs someone to be the family's designated driver.
Leading this three-ring family circus is executive producer Lorne Michaels, the comedy veteran behind the long-running “Saturday Night Live.”

“What About Brian” (one-hour drama, Monday, 10:00 p.m., ET – after Monday Night Football) -- Brian is the guy everyone wants as a best friend. He's the guy who'll stand by you at your wedding, drive you to the hospital, cheer your kids on at their little league game... the guy whom every wife dotes on and every husband wants to either grab a beer with or live vicariously through. But as all of his friends pair off and Brian emerges as the last bachelor standing, questions begin to arise in his head: Is there such a thing as Mr. or Mrs. Right? Why does love have to be so complicated? What is his problem with commitment? And the most pressing question of all -- could all of his problems stem from the fact that he is harboring a crush on his best friend’s girl?
At 34, Brian is the last single guy in his group of friends: his best friend, Adam, was going to break up with picture-perfect Marjorie, but proposed instead. Brian's sister, Nic, and her boy-toy husband, Angelo, are trying hard to have kids. The bohemian Dave and Deena have three little girls and no sex life. And, like all married people, they can't wait for Brian to join their "club," though they're not exactly sure why. As for Brian, well, he's a serial monogamist but still holds out hope that one day he'll open the door and be blinded by love.

So the rumored schedule was right... yuck.

My Thoughts:
MONDAY: 8:00 p.m. “Wife Swap” (through January. New night and time)
9:00 p.m. “Monday Night Football” (through January)
-MNF should score, and Wife Swap will probably do decent enough at 8pm
(the following will premiere after MNF)
8:00 p.m. “The Bachelor” (new time)
9:00 p.m. “Emily’s Reasons Why Not” (new comedy series)
9:30 p.m. “Jake in Progress” (new night and time)
10:00 p.m. “What About Brian” (new drama series)
-I like this route. Only one reality and 2 sitcoms and a drama. ABC is prepping for life without NFL in 2006.
TUESDAY: 8:00 p.m. “According to Jim” (new time)
8:30 p.m. “Rodney” (new time)
9:00 p.m. “Commander-in-Chief” (new drama series)
10:00 p.m. “Boston Legal” (new night)
-while I don't like moving According to Jim, this will for sure jump start a night better than what My Wife & Kids did. The only question is how will it affect the show when it is against AI in January. Two good dramas that should score well follow, though.
WEDNESDAY: 8:00 p.m. “George Lopez” (new night and time)
8:30 p.m. “Freddie” (new comedy series)
9:00 p.m. “Lost” (new time)
10:00 p.m. “Invasion” (new drama series)
-I can understand why they are moving Lost to 9pm. It makes a lot of sense. The 9pm hour will give it a chance to even get more viewers. And the most interesting match will be in mid-season when American Idol returns. I think Lost will hold its own against it. As for the comedies, well, like A:I, there could be a halo effect, with people tuning in early for Lost, so this is a plus. Invasion should do VERY well following Lost, especially in the fall, minus A:I.
THURSDAY: 8:00 p.m. “Alias” (new night and time)
9:00 p.m. “The Night Stalker” (new drama series)
10:00 p.m. “Primetime Live”
-while moving Alias is risky, and a tough 8pm slot, I think it could battle Joey/Will & Grace for second place. Alias always does well in the 18-49 demo. I'm baffled why The Night Stalker was picked up, but we'll see how it is.
FRIDAY: 8:00 p.m. “Supernanny” (new night and time)
9:00 p.m. “Hope & Faith”
9:30 p.m. “Hot Properties” (new comedy series)
10:00 p.m. “20/20”
-I'm sad to see TGIF go. Though I think Supernanny will start up the night with better ratings, so I guess that is what they wanted. At least Hope & Faith is still on from the old TGIF schedule, followed by the very interesting cast of Hot Properties!
SATURDAY: 8:00 p.m. “ABC Movie of the Week”
-No surprise here.
SUNDAY: 7:00 p.m. “America’s Funniest Home Videos”
8:00 p.m. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”
9:00 p.m. “Desperate Housewives”
10:00 p.m. “Grey’s Anatomy”
-Excellent move by keeping this in tact.
Overall, the schedule isn't too bad. MUCH better than what Nothing But Crap (NBC) showed us. I'm disappointed that Supernanny is on Fridays, and Primetime Live isn't on Mondays. Other than that, I'm satisfied. Heartbroken that the show that brought me back to primetime (8 Simple Rules) didn't get a mid-season order, but Less Than Perfect did. I'm also surprised they are holding Crumbs to mid-season.

I think NBC's schedule is much better, LOL, and I hardly watch a thing on it.
ABC's got some good ideas (have Alias be a strong anchor on Thursdays) but I knew ABC would totally shake up the schedule. I don't know, I just don't see anything that great about the schedule.
I think having two comedies leading into Lost is a horrible idea. It might work, but why not just have four comedies on Fridays? Again, I don't know but it seems slapped together in an effort to see what will work and what won't. I don't see any thought process to it.

Mid-season: Sitcoms - Crumbs, Sons & Daughters, Emily's Reasons Why Not (Mondays at 9), Jake in Progress (Mondays at 9:30) and Less Than Perfect.
Dramas - What About Brian (Mondays at 10), The Evidence and In Justice.
Reality - The Bachelor (Mondays at 8) and The Miracle Workers.

I'm surprised ABC didn't mess with Sundays to screw it up... they did every other night.
MONDAY: 8:00 p.m. “Wife Swap” (through January. New night and time)
9:00 p.m. “Monday Night Football” (through January)
Wife Swap will do decent(8pm Monday is usually very tight between all 4)
(the following will premiere after MNF)
8:00 p.m. “The Bachelor” (new time)
9:00 p.m. “Emily’s Reasons Why Not” (new comedy series)
9:30 p.m. “Jake in Progress” (new night and time)
10:00 p.m. “What About Brian” (new drama series)
I guess this is OK. At least they have a theme. I don't think it'll do that great though, but nothing else will either.
TUESDAY: 8:00 p.m. “According to Jim” (new time)
8:30 p.m. “Rodney” (new time)
9:00 p.m. “Commander-in-Chief” (new drama series)
10:00 p.m. “Boston Legal” (new night)
Yuck. Rodney will probably bring down Commander-in-Chief and Legal and ABC will probably find itself in 3rd.
WEDNESDAY: 8:00 p.m. “George Lopez” (new night and time)
8:30 p.m. “Freddie” (new comedy series)
9:00 p.m. “Lost” (new time)
10:00 p.m. “Invasion” (new drama series)
Moving Lost is fine, but putting a comedy that barely got good enough ratings to survive followed by one that looks decent for it's lead-in, I think it's a bad idea. I was for moving Lost, but I think ABC would have been better having a stronger lead-in for it. We'll see.
THURSDAY: 8:00 p.m. “Alias” (new night and time)
9:00 p.m. “The Night Stalker” (new drama series)
10:00 p.m. “Primetime Live”
This night will fail. Way to go ABC... Alias will be killed
The Night Stalker? Look for this to probably be the first of the ABC cancellations. Against CSI and The Apprentice it has zero chance. Primetime Live, well, ABC must like the basement.
FRIDAY: 8:00 p.m. “Supernanny” (new night and time)
9:00 p.m. “Hope & Faith”
9:30 p.m. “Hot Properties” (new comedy series)
10:00 p.m. “20/20”
This night looks pretty good(well, decent). I like Supernanny at 8(good chance at 2nd since NBC's reality trash looks like just that) and Hope and Faith/Hot Properties I think will work well together. 20/20 is 20/20. It's ratings will be dependent on the subject.
SATURDAY: 8:00 p.m. “ABC Movie of the Week”
*yawn*
SUNDAY: 7:00 p.m. “America’s Funniest Home Videos”
8:00 p.m. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”
9:00 p.m. “Desperate Housewives”
10:00 p.m. “Grey’s Anatomy”
YAY... a hit lineup they didn't mess up. Color me shocked.

Alias is DOA! It was smart of them to pair up Freddie with George Lopez.
I actually think Alias will do well there. Alias has a great fan following, like Fox's The O.C., which is holding its own in that tough slot. What this means is more loss of viewers for Joey. It would have been risky putting a new sitcom/drama there, now that I think about it. So, Alias is a good fit. But if it were up to me, I'd have Alias at 8pm Mondays for mid-season, leading into the two one camera sitcoms and the JJ Abrams produced What About Brian.

I think Mondays mid-season might do okay. It does have a theme of sorts and the shows might gel well together. I do agree with Pav that Alias would have been a good idea to lead Mondays in the mid-season.
Thursdays at 8pm for Alias is going to be tough. Joey does have it's fans. OC does have it's fans and Survivor obviously has it's fans. It will be very interesting to see the ratings, LOL, i can't wait. It's already a tough night in a tough timeslot.
Thank god Sundays was left untouched. Hope & Faith and Hot Properties will work well together. Supernanny should do alright at 8pm on Fridays.
And of course they would pair up George Lopez and Freddie. I just can't see them doing that great there, especially as a lead-in to Lost. That was a mistake, IMO. The rest, I guess, is alright, but it still looks slapped together.
I'm agreeing with Brent that Night Stalker is first gone. I think Invasion will be another LOST (it's either a huge hit or a total failure).

The most buzz this upfront season has been on Commander in Chief, Invasion and the sitcom Freddie. And if you remember last year the most buzz was on Desperate Housewives and Lost, and we all know what happened there. So, let's breakdown Tuesday and Wednesday:
Tuesday: According to Jim and Rodney. Rodney has actually held most of Jim's audience, especially since it returned from hiatus. I think According to Jim will score a decent 6.5-7.0 like it usually does in the fall, and Rodney will hold most of that, if not all. Commander in Chief will not need a good lead-in, it has self starter written all over it.
Wednesday: George Lopez and Freddie. Lopez is very underrated. When not going up against AI, it impressed me when it BUILT on According to Jim when it aired after Jim for that one week showing. And pre-AI, it was building on My Wife & Kids, so I think Lopez will start well, with Freddie, building on it. Freddie is probably the best new sitcom out of all of the networks. Lost needs no lead-in, it already proved that at 8pm, by having the highest ratings for a starting hour.

I can easily see Commander-in-Chief, Invasion and Freddie being the three hits this season. I'm definitely going to try and watch Freddie and C-I-C. I'll give Invasion a shot. Like I said, Invasion will either be a huge hit or a total failure.
I personally would rather watch Crumbs than Hot Properties, but both seem alright. I don't see HP lasting though, for some reason, LOL. Just a weird hunch. It might do alright though.
I just think Lopez/Freddie leading in to Lost is a weird scheduling move. Who knows? It just might work.
After pondering it for a while, I'm warming up to ABC's new schedule, but I think you might be giving them too much credit Pav, LOL.

I think the reason we are not seeing a 4 sitcoms in one night, because none of the major networks has had any success with them lately. That's why I've been told that they are only doing two sitcoms a night at most. Even CBS's Monday, really only 9-10pm does great. 8-9pm has been way down this season for them.
So by mid-season, ABC will have Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday sitcom hours. And if Alias is on hiatus in mid-season, rather than show reruns, I think we could see Crumbs/Less Than Perfect in that slot, so that would make Mon-Fri have one sitcom hour a night! Sons & Daughters is a one camera comedy, so maybe that will end up on Mondays at some point later in mid-season.

What I'll be watching:
MONDAY: 8:00 p.m. “Wife Swap” (through January. New night and time)
MIDSEASON 9:30 p.m. “Jake in Progress” (new night and time)(Maybe)
TUESDAY: 9:00 p.m. “Commander-in-Chief” (new drama series)
Now as long as CBS has Race at 8 or 10... otherwise this will have to be recorded and watched later
WEDNESDAY:
8:30 p.m. “Freddie” (new comedy series)
FRIDAY: 8:00 p.m. “Supernanny” (new night and time)
9:00 p.m. “Hope & Faith”
9:30 p.m. “Hot Properties” (new comedy series)
SUNDAY: 9:00 p.m. “Desperate Housewives”
10:00 p.m. “Grey’s Anatomy”
Also will give Crumbs a try.
This schedule (which seems to have been concocted by throwing show name magnets at the board randomly) confirms my suspicions that Steve McPherson is not a smart man, rather a man who had a great run of luck this season. The luck will run out eventually. There is one big hit here at best, and loads and loads of flops waiting to happen. Monday and Wednesday have particularly terrible anchors. I wonder what stopped him from going the full mile and trashing Sunday. And of course "Extreme Makeover" just had to be cancelled. Let's renew the distasteful reality show with the contestant who punched out his daughter during a taping and cancel the uplifting one that improves peoples' self-esteem. Way to go, Steve! You certainly made TV fun again, you did!
I reckon J.J. Abrams must be as puzzled as I am that "What About Brian" (Is there a reason all the Monday shows pose questions? What? Why? How about who cares?) got the nod over the more commercial "The Catch" and "Pros and Cons."
It's gonna be a long week...

I don't really like the schedule. I am interested in Invasion, Night Stalker and Commander In Chief but I don't have confidence that they'll last. I was really hoping Invasion would air Wednesday at 9 after Lost. Now it will have to go against CSI:NY and LawAnd Order and we all saw how well Eyes did there even though it had great buzz. Night Stalker is probably DOA where it is scheduled. Alias will never be a breakout hit. ABC could have blown NBC out of the water if they were more aggresive. I love George Lopez but its never going to be a Monster hit. I'm afraid that Apprentice spin-off just might take that hour. I hope I'm wrong.

From things I've read, ABC doesn't like to promote shows that aren't ownbed by Disney(Buena Vista, whatnot) so that's the main reason they killed Eyes, I read they were upset when Tim Daly started going out and promoting the show.
If they feel that way then why air non Disney owned shows

The Touchstone/Disney thing doesn't make sense then for the fall shows. Only a few new shows, like Commander in Chief are from Touchstone/Disney. So, I think the rumor of Eyes being canceled because it wasn't a Touchstone show, is not really true. They are bringing back Jake, which is 20th Century FOX. Emily's Reasons is a Sony show. There are a ton of Warner Bros. shows like Invasion and Freddie.

Pav do you have the WB Fall schedule? I'm hearing that Smallvile is moving to Thursdays at 8, and was wondering if that's true
Don't you just love how 8 Simple Rules was cancelled to make way for an hour of Supernanny?
Honestly, I think a lot of this schedule is, well....****. Six sitcoms total on the schedule (eight if the rest hold to January). Putting Invasion in a slot where it stands a good chance of dying is just silly, as is moving Lost. The Nightstalker just looks lame. Commander in Cheif does NOT need a Tuesday slot. Why on earth wouldn't they, say, keep Alias on Wednesday, move Nightstalker to 8 PM, move CIC in IT'S slot, and then just move George and Freddie to Tuesday.
THIS...just reeks of "throwing things against the wall to see what sticks", and I'll honestly be surprised (depressed?) if it does.
I thought ABC was better than NBC, but they're honestly about as bad.
Anyway, what I'll be watching:
Sunday:
9 PM: Desperate Housewvies
...won't come back for Grey's Anatomy - it's ok, but I've usually just been leaving it here.
Tuesday:
8 PM: According to Jim
830: Rodney
10PM: Boston Legal
Wednesday:
8PM: George Lopez
830: Freddie
....don't think I'll watch Lost this season at 9, particularly if CBS keeps 2 sitcoms at that hour.
Friday:
9:00: Hope and Faith
9:30: Hot Properties
5 Hours. Total Watched this past year: (DH, BL/GA, MWAK, GLo, ATJ, Rodney/ATJ #2, Lost, Eyes, 8SR, CS/8SR #2, H&F, LTP/H&F #2 = 7/8)

I really think some of us could do a better job at programming then some of these network executives.

It was that way under the previous managements (Lloyd Braun & Susan Lyne, Lloyd Braun & Stu Bloomberg, Lloyd Braun & Jamie Tarses, etc.), but, clearly, Steve McPherson is a free spirit and doesn't play by the rules. He's one of those people you'd expect to see fired the first few weeks on "The Apprentice," because he has no business sense.
Of course, network robots will put non-in-house shows on the air if they test well and there's strong internal support and everybody thinks they'll make them money in ad revenue (since that's the only money they'll be making from them), but when those shows stiff, they're usually the first ones out the door -- unless the person in charge is a huge fan. In "Eyes'" case, McPherson was clearly not a fan. The show was so expensive and so lifeless that I wouldn't have been a fan, either.
As much as I'd like to think "Jake in Progress" was renewed for charitable reasons, I suspect it was renewed to stick it to John Stamos and Wendie Malick (who had gotten cast in other network's shows that they now have to bow out of, because they're in first position with "Jake"). I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out "Jake's" prospects in its new time slot.

I know a lot of you are thinking ABC has screwed around with their schedule but they're taking risks and I think a lot of it will pay off
My thoughts:
MONDAY:
8:00 p.m. “Wife Swap” (through January. New night and time)
9:00 p.m. “Monday Night Football” (through January)
--- "MNF" will do as usual and "Wife Swap" should be as good a lead-in as there will be
Midseason
8:00 p.m. “The Bachelor” (new time)
9:00 p.m. “Emily’s Reasons Why Not” (new comedy series)
9:30 p.m. “Jake in Progress” (new night and time)
10:00 p.m. “What About Brian” (new drama series)
--- "The Bachelor" has been beat into the ground and I don't really see the rest of the night succeeding but you never know. CBS won't have "Raymond" which will help and I think it's at least a shot at working out this Monday schedule especially since "MNF" will be gone in fall 2006
TUESDAY:
8:00 p.m. “According to Jim” (new time)
8:30 p.m. “Rodney” (new time)
9:00 p.m. “Commander-in-Chief” (new drama series)
10:00 p.m. “Boston Legal” (new night)
--- I can't blame them for moving "Jim" to 8PM because they need something to succeed in that timeslot. Nothing has worked there since "8 Simple Rules" during its first season with John Ritter. I just hope it'll have a loyal enough audience to not get killed by "AI." "Commander-in-Chief" and "Boston Legal" should be very strong in their timeslots
WEDNESDAY:
8:00 p.m. “George Lopez” (new night and time)
8:30 p.m. “Freddie” (new comedy series)
9:00 p.m. “Lost” (new time)
10:00 p.m. “Invasion” (new drama series)
--- "My Wife and Kids" did well in the 8PM slot two years ago and "Lost" was amazing there so I'd expect "George Lopez" and "Freddie" to hold their own. "Freddie" sounds very promising and should have a good start. If it's well-written,the audience should stay. I expect "Lost" to be huge at 9PM and "Invasion" will have provide more competition for already competing "CSI: NY" and "Law and Order" in what should be the most watched hour of the week.
THURSDAY:
8:00 p.m. “Alias” (new night and time)
9:00 p.m. “The Night Stalker” (new drama series)
10:00 p.m. “Primetime Live”
--- It's an interesting call for "Alias" to go here but if it fails, it'll most likely be gone for good since ABC has enough dramas. "Primetime Live" will do alright but "The Night Stalker" will probably be dead on arrival against "CSI"
FRIDAY:
8:00 p.m. “Supernanny” (new night and time)
9:00 p.m. “Hope & Faith”
9:30 p.m. “Hot Properties” (new comedy series)
10:00 p.m. “20/20”
--- This night might improve since NBC's lineup is a joke for this night. "Hot Properties" shouldn't do any worse than "Less than Perfect" did and I agree with moving "Supernanny" to 8PM instead of more comedies
SATURDAY: 8:00 p.m. “ABC Movie of the Week”
--- Yeah
SUNDAY: 7:00 p.m. “America’s Funniest Home Videos”
8:00 p.m. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”
9:00 p.m. “Desperate Housewives”
10:00 p.m. “Grey’s Anatomy”
--- Why mess with the most successful night on television? Is there any chance, "Grey's Anatomy" may go on hiatus for a short time in the spring to give ABC yet another chance at a smash hit new drama?

For me....
Sundays
9:00PM Desperate Housewives
10:00PM Grey's Anatomy
Mondays
8:00PM Wife Swap (depending on what CBS schedules)
Mid-Season Mondays
9:00PM Emily's Reasons Why Not (will sample)
9:30PM Jake in Progress (only if CBS' 9:30 comedy is a dud)
10:00PM What About Brian? (will sample)
Tuesdays
8:00PM According to Jim
9:00PM Commander in Chief (looks to be ABC's best new drama)
10:00PM Boston Legal (can't wait for this to return!)
Wednesdays
8:00PM George Lopez
8:30PM Freddie (looks and sounds great)
9:00PM Lost
10:00PM Invasion (will sample, but I like both CSI:NY and L&O.... it'll be tough to take me away, but Eyes did it, this has a chance)
Thursdays
9:00PM The Night Stalker (will sample)
Fridays
9:30PM Hot Properties (looks and soungs great)
Like with NBC and WB, midseason seems to be where its at.... Crumbs was by far the sitcom I was looking forward to most, while Sons & Daughters sounds interesting as well. And I'm just plain thrilled about Less The Perfect returning.

It was only on one season. It developed a cult following over the years though.

I'm upset they cancelled Eyes, I loved that show and it so deserved a second chance.; What ABC should have done os renewd it, changed nights for the fall and make sure it got plenty of promotion and a DVD in time before Season 2. I mean it was going against Law & Order & CSI what did they expect was going to happen with very little promotion?
They obviously didn't give a rat's ass about the show.

From things I've read, ABC doesn't like to promote shows that aren't ownbed by Disney(Buena Vista, whatnot) so that's the main reason they killed Eyes, I read they were upset when Tim Daly started going out and promoting the show.
If they feel that way then why air non Disney owned shows
 That's terrible! Disney is acting like Neo-Nazi wannabes.

Well then Tim and the producers should take their show to cable. Like USA.

one of the reasons Sarah Michelle Gellar didn't come back for a Buffy The Vampire Slayer season 8 was because Freddie urged her "tv sucks, you're too good to be wasting your talents on television", now 2 1/2 years later, his hasbeen butt is doing a sitcom that nobody's gonna watch.

MONDAY: 8:00 p.m. “Wife Swap” (through January. New night and time)
9:00 p.m. “Monday Night Football” (through January)
-This'll do good. "Wife Swap" is a good and "Monday Night Football" is always a great competitor.
Midseason
8:00 p.m. “The Bachelor” (new time)
9:00 p.m. “Emily’s Reasons Why Not” (new comedy series)
9:30 p.m. “Jake in Progress” (new night and time)
10:00 p.m. “What About Brian” (new drama series)
- A female slanted Monday will either kill or enrich these shows. The fact that Jake in Progress is still on the air is a shocker in itself.
TUESDAY: 8:00 p.m. “According to Jim” (new time)
8:30 p.m. “Rodney” (new time)
9:00 p.m. “Commander-in-Chief” (new drama series)
10:00 p.m. “Boston Legal” (new night)
-Expect the first hour to blow in the ratings (buh-bye, According to Jim!) and the last two hours to be successful (I'd say second place to House and L&O: SVU, respectively)
WEDNESDAY: 8:00 p.m. “George Lopez” (new night and time)
8:30 p.m. “Freddie” (new comedy series)
9:00 p.m. “Lost” (new time)
10:00 p.m. “Invasion” (new drama series)
-This is a gigantic risk for the network. Two sitcoms leading into "Lost" will either kill or keep ABC the same. Expect a big cult following for "Invasion"
THURSDAY: 8:00 p.m. “Alias” (new night and time)
9:00 p.m. “The Night Stalker” (new drama series)
10:00 p.m. “Primetime Live”
-Oh damn. Putting Alias on Thursday is going to be a gigantic bomb for the network. For sure.
FRIDAY: 8:00 p.m. “Supernanny” (new night and time)
9:00 p.m. “Hope & Faith”
9:30 p.m. “Hot Properties” (new comedy series)
10:00 p.m. “20/20”
-Same ol, same ol. This could work, but I'm neutral.
SATURDAY: 8:00 p.m. “ABC Movie of the Week”
-Usual
SUNDAY: 7:00 p.m. “America’s Funniest Home Videos”
8:00 p.m. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”
9:00 p.m. “Desperate Housewives”
10:00 p.m. “Grey’s Anatomy”
-Why screw with success (unlike the WB)
OVERALL: Lots of risky moves, but overall this could work. I give it two thumbs up (for now)

yep, I saw Freddie on E around the time the last episode of Buffy aired, and he took pride in saying that he was the one who suggested to Sarah to end the show because he thinks television is beneath him.
Now 2 years later, he has a sitcom on ABC.
I can see where he is resentful to television because of his fathers suicide, but it's funny that he is going to the medium so soon after urging his wife to quit tv.

even tho it wasn't suicide, when they switched Roseanne and Home Improvement's nights around in fall 1994, neither show ever quite did as well in the ratings again, Roseanne fell from #4 to #10 that season, and Home Improvement fell from #1.
Yea ABC retreated that year because NBC moved Frasier opposite Roseanne and they thought Home Improvement could compete better with it.
Another example of ABC messing with a successful formula that I've never forgiven them for is when they moved "The Partridge Family" from Friday to Saturday, where it got heavily creamed in the ratings by "All In The Family". That same year-1975-also saw their other Friday night smash hit "The Brady Bunch" get cancelled. By trying to help one show, they killed two. I was in mourning for about 2 years! Now I know how some of you must feel now that "8 Simple Rules" is officially gone.
Fast forward 30 years and the popular opinion seems to be that the same thing is about to happen to "Alias". Well, I've never been one to support popular opinion and I'm not going to start now. I predict that not only will "Alias" survive in its new time slot, it might even thrive there. I see it finishing 2nd to "Survivor", leaving "Joey" a close third and "The O.C." 4th, putting "The O.C." in danger of immediate cancellation. The rest of the week doesn't excite me that much, except for Sundays at 9, of course.
Speaking of immediate cancellation, who was the genius that decided "Jake In Progress" should come back? Hasn't America suffered enough?
One more point: Have you noticed how many incredibly attractive women are featured on their fall schedule, and that's not including the Fab Five from Wisteria Lane? How's this for a roll call: Heather Graham, Geena Davis, Jennifer Garner, Kelly Ripa, Faith Ford, Jane Leeves, plus the women of "Lost". If TV Guide ever comes out with a swimsuit edition, ABC stars should be on the cover. Overall, their schedule will be nothing to brag about, but, visually at least, no one can top them!

Carol Burnett, who starred as Princess Winnifred the Woebegone in both the original 1959 Broadway musical hit and the 1972 made-for-television movie, returns this time to control the kingdom in the role of Queen Aggravain for ABC's re-make of this classic tale based on Hans Christian Andersen's story The Princess and the Pea.
As a shrew and the overbearing mother to Prince Dauntless, Queen Aggravain insists that each of his potential brides-to-be pass an impossible gauntlet of tests. Further, no one else in the kingdom may marry until the Prince does. When Princess Winnifred declares herself a contender for the Prince's hand, the Queen devises a clever sensitivity test to determine whether this self-proclaimed princess is worthy of her son.
Set in 1428, the story takes odd twists and turns, interspersed with songs that give a whole new look at the popular fairy tale. Based on the Broadway musical by Marshall Louis Barer, Dean Fuller, Jay Thompson and Mary Rodgers, Music by Mary Rodgers, Lyrics by Marshall Louis Barer

What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?
The opening lines of Langston Hughes' poem served as the inspiration for the title of Lorraine Hansberry's Broadway show that won the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Play in 1959 and was adapted on film in 1961. And now, the time is ripe for a new dream in the form of ABC's made-for-television movie with encore performances by the powerhouse cast from the Tony-nominated 2004 Broadway revival of the beloved classic.
Grammy-winning superstar Sean "Puffy" Combs (Monster's Ball), Tony Award-winners Phylicia Rashad (Best Actress) and Audra McDonald (Best Featured Actress), and film star Sanaa Lathan (Out of Time) retell the story of the Younger family, whose hopes and dreams are constantly deferred as they live and struggle on Chicago's South Side in the 1950s. The drama is based on the author's own real-life experiences.
A Raisin in the Sun was the first play written by an African-American woman to be produced on Broadway. Its 2004 revival attracted a large, diverse audience and became the second-highest grossing play in history. With its sensational cast and a story that "changed American theater forever," expect ABC's made-for-television original to be one of the most anticipated movie events of the season.

There's a place along Interstate 50 that some call the loneliest place on Earth. It's known as Desperation, Nevada. It's not a very nice place to live. It's an even worse place to die.
But no one told that to famed author Johnny Marinville. Or to Peter and Mary Jackson. Or to the handful of other travelers driving near Desperation. Lying in wait for them is a maniacal local cop, Collie Entragian, the man responsible for the carnage decaying in the streets and buildings of Desperation. He seems possessed by some dark force, and his appetite for murder is insatiable. As Collie starts to pick off his captives one by one, the rest of them must band together in order to beat him. But that won't be possible until they uncover Collie's secret, buried deep within the town's old copper mine. Let the battle against evil begin.

"Thus sayeth the Lord God of Israel: Let my people go."
For the first time in nearly 50 years since Cecil B. De Mille's melodramatic film of the greatest story ever told became a blockbuster classic, ABC introduces audiences to a new two-part epic account of the liberation of the Hebrew people from Egyptian bondage by Egyptian prince Moses (Dougray Scott of Mission: Impossible 2, Arabian Nights).
Born a Hebrew slave in 13th century B.C. and cast out of Egypt when his heritage is revealed, Moses makes his way across the desert where is commanded by God to return to Egypt to free the Hebrews from slavery. In Egypt, Moses' demands for emancipation are rejected by King Rameses and Moses unleashes the prophesized scourge of 10 plagues – from a swarming cloud of locusts to a river transformed into a rushing stream of human blood to a downpour of frogs from the heavens.
Charting the dramatic story of the Hebrew leader, from his narrow escape from the death as a child to his role as an emancipator of slaves who receives the law of God and witnesses the parting of the Red Sea, The Ten Commandments unfolds with all the spectacle, the violent human drama, and grand inspiration that has earned its stature as the greatest story ever told.

8:30 p.m. "Crumbs (new comedy series)
9:00 p.m. "The Bachelor
10:00 p.m. "Eyes (new night and time)
what abc would have done is not canceled Rules & Eyes I think this will be better fit for Mondays beacuse Rules could do a decent job beacuse the King of Queens & 7th Heaven will be in reruns most of the time and 8 Simple Rules will have a non-stop season between 22-24 shows and i put Crumbs after rules beacuse it a family sitcom the reason I put the shows beacuse of the Bachelor beacuse going to pre-empty the comedys when the season Stars and the Season Finale and also the Season Finale will probley pre-empty Eyes liked Alias last year if will have a non-stop season
Tuesday
8:00 p.m. "George Lopez (new time)
8:30 p.m. "Freddie (new Comedy Series)
9:00 p.m. "According to Jim
9:30 p.m. "Rodney

What abc sould have is moving there number one comedy hour early I think sould have Keep George Lopez on Tuesday insted of wednesday will see why when I do Wednesday but i think you can get atleast a decent comedys but you don't want a Drama that have a shot a being hit on time slot beacuse of Idol for Jim moveing to 8:00 is a bad and risky move beacuse is was ABC #1 sitcom beacuse of Idol I think they should stay where there are beacuse of Idol But at least keep Jim & Rodney in tack Commander-in Chief good move but it better when it on a hour later it probley be a better hit
Wednesday
8:00 p.m. "Lost
9:00 p.m. "Invasion (new drama series)
10:00 p.m. "Alias (new time)
what abc should have done not put there comedys on wednesday night i know moving lost to 9:00 helped lost but if does not helped the Night I think they should keep lost at 8:00 it already a huge hit it good move to have Invasion in the post lost time slot and most likey to be a abc biggest new hit and as for Alias well they should keep it on Wednesday insted of thursday agianst mega shows beacuse Alias will do well on hour later hour plus with Invasion most likely to become a hit Alias will never air reruns let make most likely a mid-season drama will air in Alias time slot
Wednesday Mid-Season
8:00 p.m. "Lost
9:00 p.m. "Invasion (new drama series)
10:00 p.m. "The Evidence (new drama series)
Thursday
8:00 p.m. "What about Brian (new drama series)
9:00 p.m. "Boston Legal (new night and time)
10:00 p.m. Primetime Live
what abc should have done Alias not have come to Thursdays beacuse it hit on wednesday night and one of your best shows it think it better to get a series that most like Brian here why CBS has Survivor, NBC has the Friends spinoff Joey & Will & Grace, and fox has the O.C i think better that Legal should be on Thursdays then Alias beacuse Legal is good show but not as good as Alias but is also a risky move for any show moving to Thursday that the best night on Televison and up agianst C.SI. &Donald Trump the Appentice I think and also Greys became a bigger hit then legal on post-housewives slot plus Alias & Legal most likely do air reruns there and Primetime Live at 10:00 good movew beacuse there no-way to put a another Drama series at beacuse to risky better to have news magzines show on
Friday
8:00 p.m. "America's Funniest Home Videos (new night and time)
9:00 p.m. "Hope & Faith

10:00 p.m. "20/20
what abc shoud have done it think Supernanny will fit Home Editon then AMV on Sundays I think AMV will do be better off in Fridays and the rest night is pretty good Keep Hoe & Faith at 9:00 PM Neither way you could have put Emily’s Reasons Why Not it could be good fit too and 20/20 sames at Primetime live to risky to put a drama series
Saturday
8:00 p.m. "ABC Movie of the Week
ABC did what they had to do There nothing what ABC could do for this Night
Sunday
7:00 p.m. "Supernanny (new night and time)
8:00 p.m. "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
9:00 p.m. "Desperate Housewives
10:00 p.m. "Grey’s Anatomy
what ABC Should have done it Better to have Supernanny as lead-in for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition then America's Funniest Home Videos but overall I Think what ABC Did best job it Sunday beacuse Housewives is becoming the one show on TV and Grey's become last biggest mid-season replacement you did not none of the shows to a another night
Mid-Season
My Wife and Kids
8 Simple Rules
Eyes
crumbs (abc)
emily's reasons why not (abc)
evidence, the (abc)
in justice (abc)
miracle workers, the (abc)
sons & daughters (abc)
what about brian (abc)
bachelor, the (abc)
night stalker, the (abc)
here what abc should have done I Think they sould have Jake & Less then Perfect Cancaled but I think Rules Crumbs The Bachelor & Eyes are a good fit for Monday but if Freddie or Crumbs get in rating trouble I would put My Wife and Kids in there spot but If Freddie gets in trouble before Crumbs then My Wife and Kids will already have Freddie Time Slot then Sons & Daughters the only other show that could fit with 8 simple Rules also if Hot Properties Get in Trouble you Emily Reason a good fit for Hope & Faith also If Freddie his hit Rodney got in Trouble what then I will do there not many shows that could fit Jim very well best way would have been Freddie moving to 9:30 and have My Wife and Kids at 8:30 has for the Dramas i am not for sure

Canceling 8 Simple Rules while renewing Less Than Perfect is the dumbest most baffling decision I have ever seen a network make. Do you realize that 8SR drew 600,000 more viewers each week over LTP. Also remember that 8SR was on at 8:00 vs. the 9:30PM slot that LTP was on. On a Friday the difference between a later and earlier slot is a big difference. Also, FOX renewed Bernie Mac, and 8SR beat Bernie Mac every week in the ratings. Just a dumb, idiotic decision.

I think renewing Rodney was a stupid decision too, Its rating may have improved because of its position after 'Jim' but its horrible programming.

I agree with you, but at least ABC can make a case for Rodney, because the ratings are higher. There is no justifiable evidence, particularly through ratings, that ABC could make for bringing back LTP over 8SR. Just doesn't make sense. I actually could have seen them canceling both 8SR and LTP. I wouldn't have liked it, but at least it would have made sense on their part. But bringing back LTP over 8SR just makes no sense at all.

I agree. I only watched LTP once, but I am sick of hearing the bitching about it getting renewed.
I know a lot of people, a vast majority, who believe 8SR should've wrapped the day Ritter passed away. Imagine if he had died when Three's Company was still on, would you have wanted the show to end, or would you have wanted Janet and Chrissy (or Cindy or Terri whatever the era) to just say goodbye to Jack and then have a new male roomie come in? I think you'd have wanted the former... that's also how 8 Simple Rules should've been. It was HIS show.

Yep I figured LTP was cancelled and I wouldn't have been here bitching about 8SR, I like both shows, so I'm happy at least one of them got to come back, they could have ditched all of the sitcoms period, then we'd all be upset.
I liked 8SR after John died, but yeah it was lacking something without him, I think they're all good actors, but IMO John was the heart and soul of that show just like he was on Three's Company

You have every right to be happy about your show being renewed. However, the numbers just don't support its justification, and that is what we are complaing about. The fact is 8SR had more viewers and fans than LTP whether you care to believe it or not. LTP drew 600,000 less viewers in a much better time slot. LTP was renewed over 8SR for reasons we don't know. However, we can say with complete certainty that popularity of the show is not the reason. LTP is ABC's lowest rated sitcom. That is a fact.

I dont think fans are bitching that 8 Simple Rules is canceled, they're just displaying their disapointed that the show wasn't renewed. Fans have the right to display their disapointed if their show was canceled, and have the right to talk about it as long as they feel they want to talk about it. 8 Simple Rules was a great sitcom... and is defiently going to be missed....

I will watch:
Sundays
8:00PM Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
(my wife tapes Grey's Anatomy, but I can't stand it, and Desperate Housewives just got too boring for either of us to watch)
Wednesdays
9:00PM Lost
Fridays
9:00PM Hope & Faith
I'm probably not going to bother with any of the new shows, because they won't last.

I'll never know for certain why "Less than Perfect" was renewed over "8 Simple Rules," but I have a good hunch. For the same reason that "Jake in Progress" was renewed over "8 Simple Rules." Because Zachary Levi got cast in a CBS pilot. Had the stars of "8SR" gotten themselves in other network's projects, then McPherson would have renewed them, too. To be spiteful.
How much do you think James Garner pulled in for an episode? Try, how hard do you think it would have been to let James Garner go? The poor guy was criminally wasted. If he commanded a high salary and they needed to cut corners to save the show, kick him out the door. Because he brought nothing to the table in the first place.
But what's done is done. All of the ABC bubble shows that won out over "8SR" and "My Wife and Kids" will get cancelled next May. It was just a stay of execution, ya know.
Dean Winchester
05-20-2005, 02:53 PM
my theories to why LTP was renewed over 8SR:
1. Sara Rue and Andy Dick don't command the salaries that Garner and Spade do.
2. the show has been on borrowed time since 9/11/03. 8SR without Ritter is frankly Cosby Show without Bill Cosby. The only reason it lasted this long is a testament to the legacy of John Ritter.
3. 8SR has been in sharp decline, LTP has done reasonably around the same for 3 seasons. It wasn't once in the 30's and now in the 90's.
4. the three kids on 8SR are all growing up and they'd all be off to college in the next year or two. LTP is a workplace sitcom, so it doesn't have to deal with the inevitable "kids getting older" thing.

I agree that they have the right to display their disapointment towards "8 Simple Rules" getting canceled. However, most of them are taking it out on "Less Than Perfect" - a show which I enjoy more than 8SR. They're taking the enjoyment of LTP being renewed out for the LTP fans.
To be honest, I figured ABC would renew 8SR and canel LTP. For some reason, they didn't. I wish both shows could come back, but they're not. If I were in charge of ABC, both shows would come back. Of course, if I were in charge of ABC, I never would have moved them from their Tuesday spots in the first place.

I'll admit that I figured that show was sure to be canceled. I've never seen it, so it's not a judgement on the show itself. I just don't think it's doing too well in the ratings.
If anybody's curious, ABC has previews up for all their new shows.

On the comedy front, "Crumbs" and "Hot Properties" have laughs, chemistry and promise, "Freddie" is disappointing, "Emily's Reasons Why Not" is a tenth-rate "Sex and the City" clone, and "Sons & Daughters" is unwatchable. IMNSHO.
"Invasion" is the drama to watch out for. Tech credits are incredible.

If the sitcoms bomb Wednesdays at 8pm (which they probably will) and "Invasion" is a big hit, ABC could always move "Lost" back to 8pm, stick a new drama in at 9pm and keep "Invasion" at 10pm. That would shore up the entire night.

Sundays
7:00PM America's Funniest Home Videos
8:00PM Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (watch occassionally)
9:00PM Desperate Housewives (must see)
10:00PM Grey's Anatomy (must see)
*****This night just like this season will be strong. I wish the 7PM hour was Supernanny that and Exteme Makeover Home Editon sound compatible.
Mondays
8:00PM Wife Swap
9:00PM Monday Night Football
*****8PM with Wife Swap will most likely get 3rd to CBS and NBC. Yet viewers of MNF could tune in early to watch this. 9PM will do good with MNF. 1st or 2nd place.
Mid-season-
8:00PM The Bachelor (will watch)
9:00PM Emily's Reasons Why Not (will watch, or tape for later viewing)
9:30PM Jake in Progress (will watch, or tape for later viewing)
10:00PM What About Brian? (will watch, or tape for later viewing)
*****This Schedule proves ABC ois trying to figure out what to do with Mondays since after next season they do not have rights to MNF. The whole night just seems so compatible toegther. I know I will be watching from all of the show. All sound so good hope they do good in the ratings.
Tuesdays
8:00PM According to Jim
8:30PM Rodney
9:00PM Commander in Chief (will sample)
10:00PM Boston Legal
*****Tuesdays 8PM hour is doomed versus NCIS and AI come January. I will sample the 9PM hour with Commander-In-Chief all the buzz about that show sounds good. 10PM with Boston Legal hopefully will bomb. I HATE THAT SHOW!
Wednesdays
8:00PM George Lopez
8:30PM Freddie (sample)
9:00PM Lost (must see)
10:00PM Invasion (watch)
*****Wednesadays at 8PM could poetentially do good because remeber before this year ABC had My Wife and Kids on at that time and it was a ratings hit before moving last season to Tuesdays. Yet I really don't find George Lopez that funny so I would have cancelled that and kept on 8 Simple Rules. The 9PM and 10PM hour look GREAT!
Thursdays
8:00PM Alias (will watch, or tape for later viewing)
9:00PM The Night Stalker (sample)
10:00PM Primetime Live
*****This night looks deadly to me even though I LOVE ALIAS! Night Stalker sounds compatible the only thing is ratings! I think at 10PM ABC needs to dump primetime and try a drama there it will maybe do better than the weak 7-8 million viewers Primetime pulls in.
Fridays
8:00PM Supernanny
9:00PM Hope & Faith
9:30PM Hot Properties
10:00PM 20/20
*****The Only change as I mentioned before was switch Supernanny to sundays at 7PM and move AFV to Fridays at 8PM.
Saturdays
8:00PM-11:00PM Disney Movie/Repeats
*****Boring!
Mid-season: Crumbs, Less Than Perfect, and Sons & Daughters.
*****I am really looking forward to Crumbs. I really wish they would have brought back My Wife and Kids and not Less than Perfect at midsrson, I find it funnier.

Actually, I didn't mind James Garner coming in, as the gentle grandfather father figure trying to ease the transition from John Ritter to another character, but David Spade was the last straw. When he showed up, the show officially died. ABC should have brought in Henry Winkler instead, as had been rumored. I think John Ritter would have loved that and the series would still be on.
