I thought it was goodish, however I do admit, that she sounded mighty different in the beginning. It was enjoyable though. She really looked like she was having fun up there.

BIG SPOILER FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT


























Hi everyone. I was lucky enough to be able to go to the dress rehearsal today! It was very exciting and fun. I have only a few minutes right now to run down what happened.

The first theme is country. Carrie sang a song by the Dixie Chicks called Sin Wagon (I'm very unfamiliar with country music). She did well but I expected to be blown away. Bo came out and sang a song by Travis Tritt, but I didn't know the song... I barely heard the words because I was so mesmerized by him. He's just electric... I was swooning big time. Vonzell sang How Do I Live and was flat at first but then ended strong. Anthony sang some song I'm Already There or something like that and did quite well.

The next theme was Gamble and Hough or Huff... I forgot to check spelling. Anyway, Carrie sang If You Don't Know Me By Now, and did really well. She's got such a beautiful voice but the stage presence problem is even more evident in person. Bo sang For the Love of Money and rocked it wonderfully again. He looked fantastic, and wore flip flops again. With a suit. And man it was it hot. Vonzell BLEW ME AWAY singing Don't Leave Me This Way... it was amazing. Then, Anthony sang the same song Carrie did! And in my opinion he did BETTER than she did. I really got the impression he was totally giving it his all.

Course she was in her element. Bo, wasn't thrilled with his - not his best - I didn't like the song (course I didn't like Carrie's either, but at least she worked it)! ;)

Randy - another great performance, it wasn't a great song though. brilliant.

This is going to be a very interesting week - everyone seemed to even out with the two types of songs. It still may be Vonzell though. People might feel she was trying to get sympathy (I don't think so - those were real tears and she really was trying to hold them back).

Actually, to me, overall, Bo did the worst job for the evening. I think he has enough of a fan base to hold him there though.

Oh wow, this is shocking, but I agree with you! I also agree with your rankings. Vonzell's been my favorite for a while now, even if her first performance wasn't great. But her second one won me over. Woooh. I wasn't too keen on Tony either, but he did great tonight and kicked it up a notch, so he deserves to stick around for at least another week. So I'm hoping for either Carrie or Bo to get the boot tomorrow.

1. No offense, but YUCKY! She has an AMAZING voice, but I've seen much better performances from her. Maybe I hated this one because I don't like country music, but eh...Sorry, I didn't like it anyway.
2. Her second perf wasn't that great either. It just wasn't her style. To me, tonight wasn't her night.

BO BICE
1. I actually liked it. I don't care what the judges said. The song fit him well.
2. OMG!! I LOVED this one! At first, I was like "Ew, the sunglasses again!" but later on it didn't matter. He impressed me so much with his second performance, we got to see the "slick" side of him! If he's in the bottom tomorrow, America must be loco! :p

VONZELL SOLOMON
1. The song she picked was beautiful. I prefer COUNTRY-POP over the raw Nashville stuff and I was happy that she chose a song that I know and love. Therefore, I did notice anything wrong with her performance. I felt SO happy for her, I thought she did great. But I also wanted to cry with her too. Poor girl. :(
2. I liked her second performance a lot better than the first. She showed energy and perfect vocal range. Awesome, awesome, AWESOME! Nice to see her happy after a good cry! :)

ANTHONY FEDOROV
1. He's still my favorite, but country isn't for him. *yawn* Sorry, but I didn't like him on that one.
2. HE NAILED THAT **** SO MUCH BETTER THAN CARRIE!! And even though Carrie's weakness was Anthony's gain, he had it in him all along. The song truly belonged to him. Totally made up for his other performance!

Alright, here's what I thought about tonight:

Carrie
1st song- No offense to the Carrie fans, but I personally thought it was awful. She didn't do a very good job, IMO. Sorry.
2nd song- It wasn't that great of a performance, but it was okay. I thought she did better on this song that she did on the 1st.

Bo
1st song- I thought he did a pretty good job. Not his best, but it was pretty good.
2nd song- Awesome job! I really liked it! Much better than the first song.

Vonzell
1st song- I thought she did really well! I think it was a good song for her, and she performed it nicely.
2nd song- Awesome job once again. I think she did a little better on this song than she did on the first song, but I loved both of her performances!

Anthony
1st song- OUTSTANDING!! That was incredible, I really loved it!! I thought the song went really well with his voice :D
2nd song- AWESOME JOB!!! He sang it BY FAR, MUCH better than Carrie! He performed so well, and I absolutely LOVED IT!!!!!

Nashville - eh it was okay. I'm not too big of a fan of country stuff, but it was okay.

Nashville - when Ryan said Trisha Yearwood, I was hoping for the upbeat "She's in Love with the Boy," but eh it was okay
Philly - AWESOME! One of my favorite songs and she definitely nailed. Thelma Houston would be proud!

I'm not even going to split up the themes with this one. I have to only one word to say for both of them: MAGNIFICANT.

So basically, as much as I loved her "MacArthur's Park," it's time for Carrie to get on the horse and ride off into the sunset.
