Dude - we've got to get you a better camera! (Or are they scanned in?) I like the shot of Chris with the pole - reminds me of Gene Kelly in "Singin' In The Rain"! ;)

Here's an old one of me - a few years ago.

What are you drawing? j/w

It's a little cartoon character I do. If you want, I could do him and scan him for ya in a bit (if you want). Just keep in mind that when I came up with him, it WAS the 70s! ;)

They were around in the 1970's/early 1980's, I think. I"m not positive, but I think they continued to make 'em through the late 1980's. I believe the guy that penned them lived in London, so these books were a pretty popular export in the States in the 80's. :D My sibs read just about all the ones -- my brother started attending Catholic school in 1985 and my sis in 1987, and I guess the Mr. Men series was one that the Catholic school endorsed back in the 80's because I remember my sibs bringing home Mr. Men books to read. :)

That could be it - and I'm not Catholic - I could ask Frank tho. They do remind me of these very early cartoons I do remember in the early 60s - they were in black and white though (well - I guess the t.v. was, so that's all I knew  ). Don't know if they were American or maybe just local Canadian. Cute little fellas!

They have 'em at libraries too of course  I'm not sure how popular the Mr. Men series were up in Canada around that time period, but it doesn't hurt to search at the library. ;)

They sure are! Talking about the Mr. Men books make me want to buy a few copies, just for nostalgia's sake, because I miss 'em. :D

I LOVE obnoxious shirts! When I was 8, I wore a sweatshirt that said, "Drink now, avoid the Christmas rush!" and when I was 14, drove my mother nuts with one that had a drooling monster on it and said, "Lie down, I think I love you".!

The worst came when I bought a new shirt shortly after my mother had her first stroke. It was black and in white BLURRY letters said, "Dazed and Confused". I forgot and wore it to visit her in the hospital one day - she thought she was having another stroke at first!

Oh "paunch" - it means a little belly!
Sounds like you're either going to have to rob a bank, or maybe this is the incentive you need to tackle that ED finally - no more $10/day splurges!! ;)
Teaching third graders? Sounds like a blast - I did that one spring break - 6 8 yr old boys - cutest kids!
You must have one friend that could have kept the glasses for you! Better get a crowbar for that cupboard! That, or you should have gotten your teacher's phone number - I thought you did have it. You've got to update me on things Girl!

And sure, you can borrow one of my dogs, but I'll bet you'll be tripping over them more than them leading you around!! He doesn't stop for squirrels! :lol:WELL then! :snob: ............ :p LOL.

I'm gonna have to call up the computer company again. If they can't GURANTEE that they will retrieve my files, AND put it in writing, then I'm just gonna have to forget about it. :(

And oh no no no, LOL, I wouldn't let a friend keep my glasses for me. Don't they think that would be rather....weird??? I can't even imagine myself telling a peer that my PARENTS don't know I wear glasses! :o

And yup, I have my teacher's phone number AND address, haha... but I'm too afraid to call her. :p And what is she supposed to do? Come down to Manhattan and HAND-deliver those keys to me??? Naaaah. I can't do that to her. ;) (She lives 1.5 hours away LOL). Oh well. :(

And an update, you say? Um.... let's see. I haven't binged in three days (including today).... eating a salad for lunch, and whatever my mom feeds me for dinner... and that's really it. Oh, and I started a new kinda "diet" that's supposed to last 10 weeks.... I shall not binge for 10 weeks..... Think I can make it? HAHAHAAAAA... I haven't even made it to 10 DAYS!! Haha.... but I'm "fooling" myself again... and telling myself that "THIS" time (like every OTHER time) will be "different." Sigh.

On a side note, I bumped into my elementary school counselor today. Here's something I just copied and pasted from my journal, LOL.

Ms. R (my elementary school counselor) after tutoring the kids today...She asked if I was working at P.S. ** over the summer, and I told her 'yes with Ms D and she's like.."that's great." Then she put her hands on my upper-arm... rubbed them a bit... and asked me how I was feeling. I told her I was "okay." Then she said I "looked great" and smiled... And she's like, "we can talk.....[something I forgot LOL] .....nice to see you again" and she motioned her hands over my face to get my bangs away from my eyes LOL........ AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!! I've always thought she was a wicked mean lady when I was attending this school, LOL... but she's not that bad after all. If I ever go to a therapist for my ED.... I would definitely want one like her. Sheesh. Are you HAPPY now?? LOL. You got your update. :p Hehe.

 I almost forgot about that!!! I usually don't post pics where I look bad. But my only pic of me with Norbert - Forget how bad I look, it's NORBERT!!! It's that kind of logic with those pics.LOL!!! I uh... sorta...forgot [or don't know] who Norbert is??

I KNEW it! Had never been down there before until Q-107's Summer Bash opening - we had tickets for Goddo, Foghat and Foreigner. Not a bad club, but the standing for 6 hours in heels just about killed me!

I've got a pic too, but it didn't turn out all that well. :(

You're so lucky you got to meet him!! I was dying to get Lou Gramm's autograph for my brother-in-law, but they all seemed to head upstairs with the radio station personnel before and as soon as they were finished their sets. :crybaby:

It's a nice club, but it was filled with pot smoke so it was pretty gross. I was wearing my Birkenstocks and it wasn't SO bad, but my legs hurt this morning.

I know, I saw him walking around no one was around him so I just walked up and chatted with him. Very, very nice guy.

Funny you'd mention the pot smoke. I almost mentioned that myself. I mean, I don't really care what people do as long as they're not hurting anybody, but as you know, we have REALLY strict laws about smoking - cigarettes - let alone that stuff. It pissed me off (and I smoke it occasionally myself), plus I'm a cigarette smoker, but that stuff smelled like somebody lit someone's gym socks on fire!!! They could have gone outside instead of doing it right in front of the stage. I'm surprised the cops didn't do anything about it. Guess they figured it could start a riot or something.

Glad you got, and took the opportunity to meet him! Very cool! ;)

That was actually in Wisconsin, and like Allison said, I live in MN part time, which is really similar to Wisconsin.

It was pretty hard this last week due to the heat, so we ended up working late nights from about 8 P.M. - 2:00 A.M.

I don't envy you out there in this heat, but that would have been kind of cool (no pun intended) working on a pool at night!

Actually, we couldn't go with plaster - the water table in our area rises too much in the winter and spring - sometimes as much as two feet!!!! As it is, the stairs are done in plaster and we've had to have cracks repaired several times. There seems to be only one guy left in the province that works with plaster too!! It's a four hour drive for him to get here and so its pretty expensive!

Funny, even though I'm in Canada, I'll bet when you check where you are on a map and draw a line to just north of Toronto, you and Allison are probably more north than I am even!

I like the south, but I'd miss the changing seasons we get and the smell of the air in the woods. The North Rocks!!! :woohoo:

True. I wish that would work in college.

College doesn't call parents.

Skipping high school, it makes sense, I understand, I've done it occassionally.

But, maybe its just the poor man in me saying this.... I can't understand why someone would want to skip a college class. It's a bitch to make up, and its only your money that you're wasting. I'm the type of person that eats everything on the plate when I go out to eat, because I paid for it. And if I'm going to pay for school, I'm going to go to every class.

I know that, I'm already in College. I agree with you about skipping classes. I missed one class, because I had a high fever. It did suck making it up later, because we had a research paper to do and I missed the teacher's expecations on what she wanted. Oh well, I got an A on it anyway.

I missed like 3 weeks of my senior year (15 days total, allotted 20 for the year) and still got great grades...Graduated without any probs. :D I was extremely sick for two weeks before Christmas and missed two weeks of school...that sucked. I was still making up my assignments through January. :(

My junior year must have been a complete fluke. With the exception of my grandmother's funeral, I was in school every day of the year, and I was on time too. (of course, most of those days I got to leave a block early [legally], and on others I would leave during the day to go to either breakfast or lunch)

Whereas sophomore year I missed 9 days, and something like 7 or 8 in my freshmen year.

Not preaching - but just as long as you do get it out of your system and it doesn't get out of hand. I drank a lot when I was young too, but hardly do anymore - I just get tired now!

Yeah, I remember the days - used to get a garden hose and syphen the homemade Italian wine from a girlfriend's dad's cask. We'd fill a gallon jug and go off for the night. The stuff tasted like dinosaur pee, but it did the job.

It really was. At the time of course, I thought it was great, but really, I did most of my drinking underage to (which isn't good, but some kids do it).

I'm just thankful I smartened up (but having an alcoholic father helped that).
I'm actually sometimes surprised that they tighten the smoking laws so much, but lighten the drinking ones - alcohol can be every bit as deadly to oneself and others as smoking is but it doesn't have the same stigma attached to it.

barwars

Smoking cigarettes is pointless though. I personally don't smoke anything, but I would think marijuana should be legalized over cigarettes.

As for the drinking age, I think it should be lowered to 18. If I can die for this country, I can drink for it too.

Yeah - at least grass isn't addicting like cigarettes are. What those cigarette companies have done is a disgrace with all the additives they throw in to cross addict and everything else.

That's why I don't like this trend of adding caffeine to beer - just what people need - now even if you don't have a tendancy to become an alcoholic, they'll make sure they hook you some other way.
