I can take country in doses. I've always loved Dolly, I also like some of Garth's stuff. I like the older country though. I'm not really into the newer stuff. I also remember listening to an 8-track tape of a guy named Floyd Cramer. I listened to that over & over again when I was a kid.

I like a lil bit of country...the artists I like are:

Garth Brooks
Tim McGraw
Johnny Cash
Faith Hill
Lonestar (minus Mr.Mom  )

and I like that song "How Do You Get That Lonely" I don't if thats the exact title or who sings it but I really like it

 Yeah, I REALLY don't know how that song made it to #1.

Anyways, I love country. I like mostly the female artists, but I do like Brad Paisley and Tim McGraw. I'm convinced that Brad is the most talented male in country music today.

I like some country music. I really like Shania Twain. I know that some people think that she is too "pop" to be considered real country music though.

I like that one too. The singer is Blaine Larsen.

Anyway, I like almost everyone in country music. My top 5 would be:

Alan Jackson
Keith Urban
Kenny Chesney
Martina McBride
Shania Twain

Shania Twain uses pro-tools more so than other artists

Have a great time! On the same day I'm seeing Reba, Brad Paisley, and Terri Clark. I can't wait to see Reba again...it's been almost 4 years.

I like some country music from the 70's and 80's that I listened to growing up, particularly the Urban Cowboy soundtrack.

FYI: Did you know that Bret Michaels, lead singer of the 80's hair band Poison, is planning to record a country album? That's kind of neat.

I really got into Country music in the early 90's. I like Dwight Yoakam,Travis Tritt, Brooks and Dunn, Asleep At The Wheel, Tanya Tucker, Patty Loveless, Carlene Carter to name a few. The past few years though, I quit listening. Too many artists. I can't keep track of them! Also IMO Country singers have become too "Madison Avenue"(manufactured) :(

Dwight rules! :guitar:

I love country, that's about all I listen too, I hated it growing up, but now it's my favorite. I love Rascal Flatts, Shania Twain, Martina McBride, LeAnn Rimes, Faith Hill, Sara Evans, George Strait, Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, The Dixie Chicks, Reba McEntire and so many more ;)

IMO Country is much better than some of that so called music other radio stations play ;)

Patty Loveless

If you ever get the chance, you should check out some of Patty's recent albums. She is one of few female artists who have stuck to traditional country music. If anything, she has become MORE traditional over the past few years. If you like her early 90s stuff, I highly recommend any of her other albums, with the exception of Strong Heart. I still love that album, but it's probably the only one where she tries to go a bit pop.

You like some GREAT music!! And I totally agree about country being better than a lot of other stuff that's on the radio these days. I can't wait for the ACM's. I hope Sara wins this year!

Sara is long overdue for an award, I'm crossing my fingers for her :)

Yeah country is about the only music that makes sense to me, hard rock and such give me a headache, and rap IMO is a waste to me

I agree. Martina is my favorite singer, but she has won the past 3 years in a row, so I really hope Sara takes it home this year. I was surprised that Sara also got nominated for album of the year. She definitely deserves that. Restless is one of my favorite albums of all time. I can't wait for her new album this summer, but it will be hard to top that.

Here's a picture of Sara rehearsing for the ACM's. She will be doing her new single A Real Fine Place to Start.

I mostly like the classic country from the 70s and 80s. I'm very picky about todays country music. Mostly I'm a 70s 80s rock n roll girl, but give me a Conway Twitty album and I'll go to singing my heart out. :) I do like Alan Jackson, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Shania Twain and some others. I've found out that I really enjoy many of Gretchen Wilson's songs. I really love "When I Think About Cheating" It reminds me of classic country. :)

I can't believe Gretchen Wilson won Top Female Vocalist. :barf: You shouldn't even be able to be nominated for both Top New Artist and Top Female Vocalist in the same year.
